Yes, he´s the Author....Askham...but is he quite who you think he is...?
Steve has spent 40 years in the international fruit trade. There´s literally nobody else on Earth who knows more about how this critical section of human existence comes together to put that fruit in your bowl every day.

Fascinating information covering all aspects of worldwide fruit production and how it’s transported, interspersed with humorous anecdotes for balance.
Whilst you may never have really wondered, or cared, how fresh fruit gets to your local market, this tells you how and maybe knowing a bit more about the growers will provide context.
Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable read.

The book is a story of a a life that crosses continents and decades with fluent ease. Some brilliant dinner table stories here and some really scary encounters I for one would not have been able to handle.
Next time you have rhubarb crumble or poached eggs on crushed avocado I swear you will recall the facts and stories.
Enjoy.
