How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

This author has such a way with dialogue and flirty banter. River and Hutch’s dialogue is cute, sexy, hesitant, yearning, flirty, wary and angsty all at once. Who knew a rehab center could make for such a fascinating romantic setting. (As a therapist, I’m super not down with counselors dating their patients even if they met before they were client/therapist, it’s just icky and unethical and very inappropriate) the book is a good read tho

"Life on the Level" (On The Verge #3) was this month's Book Club choice. I hadn't read anything from Zoraida before, so I didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. What captured my attention was the tone of the book. It was easy for me to sink into to storyline and connect with the characters. I actually cared about what happened to them, especially the heroine, River Thomas, and that's what I hope for when reading a book by an author for the first time. There are two other books that are part of the "On The Verge" series and I look forward to reading them as well.

Never simple.
Reviewed in the United States on 14 September 2016Verified Purchase
River's story was never going to be simple. Even when she is trying her best to be good, s*** goes down and messes crop up and love is a constant complication. She is her own worst enemy most of the time except when nature's trying to kill her. (Or so it seems.) But she learns, eventually, and by the time we reach the end, every good thing is earned several times over so she can finally believe.
