Product Description

Anna has two masters, one she hardly knows, but who makes her feel safe, the other she's known all her life and says he needs her.
Alex wants her to be free.
Devin demands her obedience.
As Anna takes her first steps into the world, into love, into friendship, she wonders if she will ever understand either of them.

There is a subculture within our own world that you’ve only heard whispers of. The conspiracy theorists wish they knew Anna’s story. What the conspiracy theorists think they know is only disinformation, put out there to keep them from the real story.

This is not a stand-alone novel. This is the second of five novels that tell Anna’s story.

This book is for grownups. This book is not for people who are easily offended, get nightmares easily, or have difficulty reading books about tough subjects. I do not glorify bad things, but bad things do happen to my poor characters. This is not your typical love story. My heroine does not fall in love and live happily ever after... at least not like the typical heroine. There is a happily ever after, but it is a long, painful journey to that end.
This book will likely offend you. This book might make you cry; it might make you throw up. It is a dark book. As my friend, Heidi, said, “It’s dark. It gets darker. It gets even darker, and then it gets even more darker. And then, just when you think it can’t get any darker, it does.”
But, don’t worry. I take you to the deep end gradually. ;)
There are many sexual situations in this series of books. People die. People get hurt. Things aren’t always truly the way they appear. The antagonist isn’t just a bad guy; he’s EVIL. My heroine’s worldview is skewed; things that may appall you are perfectly normal to her.
Any violence in this book is non-gratuitous and crucial to the plot and character development.
Do not read this if you are under the age of consent in your country. Do not get angry if the subject or actual book upsets you. If you're reading this, you've been warned.

Oh lordy – I was keen to find out more about what was happening with this story as I had several questions from book one that I wanted answered. The heartache continues with this story. Fair warning – there is rape, molestation, abuse and horrific scenes. If you are looking for a read to spice things up in the bedroom – you might only get tips of Anna’s anaconda blow job pointers because just about every scene in this book was horrifying to me.
What the author has a huge handle on though and conveys beautifully is manipulation. She is extremely well trained –even mechanical in her responses but put her in a social environment and she’s is very immature, but that’s purely from her lack of experience. She was ripped from her childhood and teen years into a very dark adult situation.
Anna is such a complex character. I have never read a book with so many mentally messed up characters. It’s sucked me right in and even though the content is distressing and disturbing to me, it’s hooked me into wanting to know what’s going to happen to these tormented and demented souls.
Everything you think you trust – might not be true – it will only rip your soul out.
I was kindly provided with a free copy of this book from the author to provide an honest review. Receiving this book for free did not influence my opinion nor review.

Oh wow, I finished this book last week. I still can't quite put my thoughts in to words. Lingering visions and my overactive imagination are going crazy.
So yeah, the warning in this book states it's dark, and that it just gets even darker with each book. Well, I can now say this has to be the DARKEST I have read. I have read a lot of dark fiction. I'm not even that shock-able, and although book 1 was dark, and I knew there was no holds barred on this story. Every gritty detail was shown, nothing left to the imagination. But, it wasn't a patch on Entwined, book 2. One particular scene will be forever scarred in my brain, filed under 'oh my gawd, did I just read that correctly'. I won't even mention any more as that definitely has to be read with no prior knowledge before hand.

So, aside from the huge shock factor and intense and risky, boundary crossing darkness. This still remains the most incredibly addictive story. I just couldn't stop reading. I couldn't even guess what was coming, I was continuously thrown from one scene to the next, with my mouth constantly gaping open. Not pretty.

I have come to many conclusions in part 2. One being; there is absolutely no redeeming qualities in Devin Anderson. That man errr monster is one of a kind. I am one of those people who reads a book, and expects the monster will (most of the time) end up seeing the error in their ways, and all that. Not Devin, I'm not entirely sure he even works like most humans do. That man is deadly, and most definitely not one you want to cross. Some of the things he did, were beyond cruel and wrong. He has no limits. I actually started off thinking, he had the whole sexy, powerful, alpha thing going on.

3.0 out of 5 stars There's a great plot here being overwhelmed by sex scenes 2 November 2014
By Mady Rivas - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Can dark erotica have too much sex? I guess the answer in this case is Yes. A great dark read balances advancing the plot with embracing the erotica. There were too many rape scenes that weren't particularly sexy or even dark. I think we got that Anna is toy to be passed around pretty early on. Endless scenes of this happening just got boring. It doesn't tell anything more about Anna - we know she accepts her life; it doesn't tell us anything more about Devin - this is what he's been plotting to do with her since birth. It did tell us that Alex is weak, but we see that from other aspects of the story. The book could have been shorter and tighter if half of those scenes were eliminated. I found myself skipping over many of these scenes without losing the thread of the story.

The background plot - an illuminati like cult is trying to take over the US government - didn't advance all that much. We did see a couple of politician succumb to Devin, but to what end remains unclear. There is more paranormal activity than the last book, but I feel somewhat confused that the Immortals in the US want to allow the Elders have more power as history says this is a bad thing for the Immortals. Thus, the motivation remains unclear. This is a long book - we should know more.

Anna had moments of growth - she has some powers - but then those moments got cast aside instead of developed. Alex seemed to descend into pussydom as he realized that Devin really was more powerful than he was (of course he was - he's an Elder and been at this game longer, as well as being comfortable in his unapologetic dark ruthlessness - why is Alex's dad not helping more?).

Despite this, I will read the next one. I like this dystopian, paranormal world. I am hoping that Anna and Alex find some power, either together or separately, to fight back against Devin. I am hoping that Anna spends less time being raped and more time living.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark readers roller-coaster ride not to be missed 30 October 2014
By K A Street - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
After the first installment of Life of Anna I had more questions than answers. This book answers so many questions and poses many, many more. I'm so entranced by the story. Buckle up, this is a crazy, wild ride, but make sure you've read Enslaved: Life of Anna #1 as this is not a standalone.

In part one, we saw Anna be "trained" for a life she didn't ask for and doesn't understand. We were left with a ritual ceremony and in the end Anna had two masters: Devin, the dark and Alex, the light. There were hints to a subculture of Elders and slaves, secret powers and rituals. Anna finds herself in the midst of a great power struggle.

Devin is arrogant, cruel and out for some ultimate power. He claimed Anna as his own when she was born and has plans for her that only he truly knows. Alex is kind, but has an inner rage. He saw Anna in his dream or illusion and feels he has a duty to her. As Alex fights for Anna's freedoms, Devin fights harder for her obedience. Entwined takes Anna through so many highs and lows. She gets some freedom and the ability to pursue her passion for ballet, but she remains at the beck and call of Devin to do his bidding through her powers of seduction. She is powerless to Devin and follows his orders, no matter her own peril. At any slight in her obedience, Anna finds harsh punishment and pain. Alex cares for her too much to engage, instead he seeks her freedom through the old scripture of his culture.

This book is quite long and there are a large number of characters to follow, but somehow, I was still dying in the end because I need more of the story. This is not the end of Anna's journey. I hope to see much more Alex, Kurt, Wilhelm, Tommy, Aaron, Travis, Ian ect.....I fear I will get a whole lot more Devin too, but you take the good with the bad!

This book is dark erotic and paranormal. It is not for the faint of heart. Please heed the authors warning. But, for those who are brave, open minded and a little off (like myself, I guess) it is a roller-coaster ride not to be missed!

I was given a complimentary copy in return for a honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Part 2 did not dissapoint!!! 30 October 2014
By Amazon Customer - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I don't even know where to begin with this review. The first part of Anna's story left me with such a major hangover that I knew there was no cure except to read more of Anna's story and part 2 did not disappoint! This is one of the very few stories that I have been able to go back and re-read multiple times... Actually, I think it's the only one.

Devin is the epitome of evil and truly scares me. On the flip side it is almost impossible not to love Anna and just want to give her a big hug and tell her everything will be alright.

The thing I love most about this series is that there is absolutely no way to guess what is going to happen next. It is such a unique story and full of twists and turns. I can't wait to see what's in store for Anna next.

Warning!!! This book is majority dark. If you loved the first one, then you'll love this one as well, but things just keep gettin worse for Anna. If you don't have an open mind then you shouldn't even attempt to read this book.

I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars he picks up right where he left off and gets even worse, sending Anna on the worst emotional roller coaster ... 30 October 2014
By Heidi - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Book 2 continues right where book 1, Enslaved: The Life of Anna, Book 1, left off. Devin gives Anna a little more freedom and you want to get so excited for her. But Devin being Devin, he picks up right where he left off and gets even worse, sending Anna on the worst emotional roller coaster ride anyone could ever be on. And you just want to reach into the book and kick his ass.

Your heart breaks for Anna even more, wishing that she could just be happy and away from Devin. And just when you think she might find that happiness and the love that she so desperately deserves, Devin comes along and destroys it for her, causing you to scream.

One can only hope things will get better for Anna, we will have to wait for book 3.
