I think it was rushed. I felt like she had no back bone. For him to believe her roommate and not her that shows poor on his part. Then she forgives him years later after he had kids with the girl who started it all.

I was so certain that I was going to love this book but I could not get pass Mark trusting and believing a stranger (OW) over a woman he had known since he was a child (my hate for him increased when he thought to himself that it hasn't taken him long to realize that Jennifer was projecting her own personality traits onto Susie, that is something he should have realized immediately) and he had married Jennifer the summer after him and Susie had broken up. I had a hard time believing that he loves Susie because it seemed like he had loved Jennifer or believed he did until he realized that she was not the woman he thought he married and that had she been, he would have been happily married and not have given Susie a second thought. It didn't help that Susie was way too forgiving making her look like a doormat (and that they were apart for 12 years and she never moved on. I hate when authors have the H move on to other relationships and have a family with OW but keeps the h frozen in time. That sexist, ridiculous and unrealistic trope needs to disappear). After what he did, Mark should have had grovel for forgiveness and work hard for a second chance.

I loved this. Yes they should have trusted each other and asked questions.........but when you’re young you are not always smart and logical. Give this book a chance I think it’s is worth the read.
