Excellent book on Lewis and a different take on writing. One of the best books on imagination I have read. It is also a book about how to be.

Once more, Jack is good company.
Reviewed in the United States on 14 August 2017Verified Purchase
Since I first visited Narnia at 9, CS Lewis has been good company--walking me through doubts in college, helping me shape a sermon. And now, as I explore the craft of writing, once more my old friend, "Jack" is faithful. Corey Latta has done a beautiful job telling Lewis' writing advice through the story of his own life which makes us, as readers and writers, look at our own stories with new imagination.

What a great book for all writers! What a treat for all C. S. Lewis lovers!
Reviewed in the United States on 20 October 2020Verified Purchase
I am trying to develop writing ideas, and I suffer from some of the same issues with which C. S. Lewis had to cope. I am an academic in a college of business at a prestigious university, and I am a minister with wide interests in various issues related to philosophy and religion. I love literature of diverse genre, from essays to academic to fiction and more. THIS BOOK IS PERFECT! I have not finished it yet, but I can assure you that the author has had an excellent idea and probably worked to produce a book she hopes to be her most important. In addition, the author brings her excellent qualifications and lifelong passion for C. S. Lewis to the task. I, for one, am really glad she did!

Wonderful Window into Lewis as a Writer and Reader
Reviewed in the United States on 8 September 2020Verified Purchase
Even though a book on writing, it is well-written in its own right. The book pulls together the principles of Lewis' writing habits, with a heavy emphasis also on Lewis as a reader. Great applications throughout for writers and plenty of inspiration to practice, practice, practice. The book deserves better than its print-on-demand quality.
