There are some lovely points in these sentences that will resonate with most parents. This book is, however, what it says on the tin. You could read motherly (website /parental blog space) and get more nuance or wisdom. It’s a pleasant, quick, slightly disappointing read. It’s nothing you haven’t thought, felt or perhaps discussed with friends (real or online).

No doubt the millions of fans of Giovanna’s and her husband will buy it hoping to glean a new scrap of info about their lives. If you don’t know/ care who they are I maybe wouldn’t buy it.

I do love the author although I was unsure when I bought it that it would be my cup of tea. Now I’ve finished it I probably wouldn’t buy anything similar again. But glad I’ve read it. It’s also handy if you don’t have a lot of time as it’s just a book of letters. One doesn’t link to the next so you can read them at your own pace

I bought this immediately after reading Gi's Happy Mum Happy Baby. I'm currently 35 weeks pregnant and find that Gi's writing style is so personable, I can't help but get excited about the things I have ahead of me in motherhood (even when she's talking about sleepless nights and the tricky parts of being a mum!) Would definitely recommend.
