The book starts up right on the heels of the previous book. Reagan said yes and practically promised Boone she'd never pay attention to another dead body again. The only problem was that there was a body in the Fritz sisters' car and Reagan certainly didn't want them to go to jail for something they didn't do. A whole comedy of errors follows, one funny situation after the other which leads to a pretty awesome conclusion where BW, Reagan and Boone's rescue dog, gets to be a hero.
I didn't guess the killer very early, but I did have suspicions all along about that person.
There was a little side mystery concerning Uncle Putter meeting with Boone over some legal matters but it seems like that might be an ongoing future small plot since nothing was explained about it. I loved the whole wedding planning craziness. One minute they didn't want a big wedding, next minute there was one being planned. A super fun roller coaster ride that you won't want to miss! I probably should get caught up on the rest of the series before the next book comes out but I'm so anxious for that to happen too.
Walker Boone finally pops the question and Reagan barely has time to celebrate when Aunt Kiki shows up to take Reagan to a wake for Willie Fishbine, who was meaner than a snake in life. Annie Fritz and her sister, Ellie Abbot, Reagan's neighbors, are professional mourners, but they are worried about their business if there is a poor turn out for Willie. Annie and Ellie and have been hired by Sleepy Pines Retirement Center as part of their retirement package. It is at the wake when Reagan finds out the residents of Sleepy Pines are dying at an alarming rate--ever since Annie and Ellie were hired, making them the top suspects.
On the way to talk to Walker, Reagan stumbles upon the sister's Cadillac parked in an alley with a dead body inside. When she returns with Walker, it's to find the Caddy and the body gone. Trying to keep the sisters from being arrested, she starts her own investigation into the shady dealings at the Sleepy Pines Retirement Center and is also trying to find out what happened to the body.
I've waited a long time for this book and it was worth the wait. I love the series, the characters, just everything about it. If you like humorous cozy mysteries, then you need to read this series and this book. Loved it!

I think this is the funniest one yet. With Aunt Kiki going undercover and Uncle Putter meeting with Boone in a professional capacity, how is Reagan going to handle the fallout of this murder especially since Aunt Kiki is getting hurt while undercover. They are all, except Reagan, have the times of their lives including Judge Gloria. Business has now picked up (of course, that's because of the gossip.) Reagan has the best boyfriend in Boone. He is so patient and there to pull her out of trouble. Detective Ross gets that date with the coroner. Maybe Big Joey's love life might revive if he can get over commitment phobia. There were some questions left at the end. I cannot wait for number six.
