I must say I recently finished BOTW prior to TOTK and i got a tiny bit worried about similarity’s.
All i can say is BUY THIS GAME! Wow, I don’t know how they managed to make the world look even better than BOTW, still on the same hardware.
This is a standalone! NOT DLC lol
TOTK is definitely more story oriented from the moment you boot it up.
When you land back in hyrule, yes there is similarities. But there is huge gameplay differences. TOTK really gives you so much creative freedom, its insane. You can build virtually anything you can think of, tackle a problem in multiple ways. Need to get up high..Cut trees down, stick them together and climb up, use your new power to travel vertically through objects, Build a hot air balloon.. the list goes on.
The world is packed with content, there is THREE maps. Sky, Land and Depths bellow.
Characters ( NPC’s ) have more dialogue, Better looking and give you better side quests.
Weapons.. Wow you can fuse together say a stick and a rock.. Boom, you can break Deposits or walls. Can fuse anything btw.
Outfits Far, Far more than BOTW. More clothing, more diversity in outfit.
Overall world look, they really put in a TONE of effort to optimise this game! This is the PEAK of what the current Switch can do, the world is populated, Skybox, Water, Physics, Enemies, NPC’s, Wildlife ect and in the world looking great… There is at times a few frame stuttering.. But that’s Nintendos fault.. Not the developers. Nintendo should have gave a update in the CPU/GPU on the Oled model ( like PS4 pro Example ) than it would have really prolonged the Switch’s life.. But back to the game.
Fantastic, I’m trying to keep the review completely spoiler free. GET IT, It’s not “DLC” its an entirely new game, more story, new abilities, Three worlds to explore.
