I did like book 2 more than book 1. No more flash back diary entries helped with that a lot, I hated them in book 1. I didn't feel like the first book was particularly believable and even now I feel like some of the plot line didn't really make sense.
So what do I like about this book and series. Well for starters it's very unique. Our anti-hero heroine is a female assassin and most of her love interests are younger than her. V is unapologetic and not terribly switched on emotion-wise. If there is 1 thing I like in a character, it's for them to be a bit broken and wrong.
In book 2, we see V in a new home with the 3 guys from book 1, all undercover as a high school student, doing things her own way regardless of what the guys want. The storyline felt more genuine and realistic.
As for the guys ... I like Lorcan and Dino. Lorcan fits well with V, and feels older than his age. He says and does what he wants. Dino is sweeter, but seems younger and seems willing to do what V wants to the detriment of himself. Jude I'm not a big fan of, but that may be because I find his type of character unattractive. It also felt like his switch to team V was too sudden.
At the end of book 1, I didn't know if I'd keep reading. At the end of book 2, I'm actually quite keen to read the outcome of the cliffhanger. I came wait to see Dante redeem himself.
Dino, Lorcan, and Jude. Broken as, and still believable characters, you just want so much more for all of them.
This was too short. It ends on a cliffy. I just need book three now.
Content warnings abound. If you don’t like it dark, blood play and violent, it’s not for you. Read the sample before diving in. Love this series!
I love this series. I have been following Mallory a while now and she just gets better and better and this one was incredible.
So gritty, dark, twisted and a whole lot angsty. This book just captures your attention form the first page and keeps you engaged and at the edge of your seat the entire way. I would say this one is darker than book 1 and I’m here for it. I’m not sure what that says about me but the darker the better.
The characters are amazing I absolutely love them. This would be the first series where I actually like all the characters. Each of them are unique in their own way and have something to bring to the story which makes it come to life. I love their banter, the chemistry and tension between them at times. It’s truly incredible how she has written these characters. I’m loving every second of it.
This world build is great. So much clarity and detail. You truly feel like you are apart of it. It just adds that extra element to the story you don’t realise makes a difference in certain books but in this one it does. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series.
○ Dark romance
○ Reverse harem
○ Hit woman
○ Serial killer
○ Fiesty FMC
My overall rating for A Legacy of Sorrow is…
Whos ready for our favourite, bloodthirsty and psychotic assassin to return with a vengeance?! Viola is back to her fiesty and twisted games in this exhilarating sequal. It's always interesting delving into the mind of a character who craves pain, blood and the thrill of murder, and I loved returning to Vs' murderous lifestyle. I'm still in awe at the way V is personified; how she encompasses a black-hearted mask to keep her demons at bay. It could almost be called OCD. Lorcan, Jude and Dino are also back to play, their characters complimenting Vs flawlessly. The twists and turns Fox has threaded throughout the tale had me riveted from the get go. Overall, an immersive read for fans of dark and twisted fiction.
Viola is back with her guys. Questions from book 1 are answered but now we have new unanswered ones.
It continues to be action packed, intoxicating, intense, sexy dark and dangerous.
It's so unpredictable. Just when I thought I had it all figured out. It's takes a turn that I never would have expected.
It kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning to end.
That ending has me wanting so much more. Bring on book 3.

First it started out as a job, and for the most part, that’s how she wants it to stay. She wants the money and needs the adrenaline she gets from doing it. It’s a NEED for her. Most people need chocolate, Viola needs the kill. But somewhere along the way, the guys have all started to become something more, and she just doesn’t know how to handle it.
I’m loving the build up of it all. This story is heavy on the plot with a side of steamy steam steam. We get answers from book 1, but that just leads to more questions we need answers for. Where is book 3 going to take us? Absolutely no idea, I know where I wanna go… but, spoilers.
The biggest question on all of our minds right now is… Dante.
5 stars - less than a day to read because I cannot put it down. I only give 5 stars if it has managed to engage extra emotions from me - extreme lol moments or real teary moments etc. A 5 stars book tends to have me raging about cliff hangers and (legally and not creepily) stalking the author for release dates.
4 stars - 2 days to read or less. A book that I have quite enjoyed reading, feisty MC and some racy scenes with thier romantic interest. I would definitely follow a series and author for 4 star books.
3 stars - takes around 2/3 days to read, usually because I have become distracted and less engaged in some sections but by the end the end I have enjoyed the overall story and would read any sequels.
1/2 stars not given, as I have usually returned it without finishing as I'm not engaged. .
