Product Description

The perfect job or the perfect man. Surely Aiden and Noah can have both, right?

Aiden Turner's world flipped upside down when his vengeful ex-boyfriend destroyed a major project, costing his uncle’s architectural firm an important client. Feeling guilty, Aiden has since sworn off all romantic involvement with anyone he works with.

Noah Walker is getting ready to interview for his dream role when he catches Aiden’s eye on the London Tube. They strike up a conversation, and even though the attraction sizzles between them, Noah must decline the offer of a morning coffee. The interview is crucial, and he needs to focus on getting the job, not getting a date.

When Aiden discovers the enigmatic man on the train is the same man he is interviewing, he is torn. But he knows Noah is the right man for the job, and he attempts to put some professional distance between them. However, it's not long before Noah makes his way under Aiden’s skin.

Neither man can afford to risk their employment, but keeping their relationship a secret takes its toll. When things get ugly, they need to decide what’s more important—or if the job is worth the sacrifice.

3.0 out of 5 stars An average read with indistinguishable MCs 22 March 2017

Another book that was just ok for me. Nothing special to recommend it, nothing awful enough to frustrate me. I found the MCs voices to be very similar. There were times I couldn’t tell who was talking or which POV chapter I was reading. The beginning, with the MCs scoping each other out on the Tube, then the other run-in with another Tube rider, then the “big reveal” in the office, was ridiculous in the extreme. Talk about a double coincidence! All the thousands of Tube riders at that station that morning and three of them end up in the same place after “meeting”???? Improbable if not impossible. I almost stopped reading after that silly bit of forced plotting.

I’m not sure if it’s the style of the writing or the MCs’ low angst back and forth or what, but I didn’t feel like there was any happiness or lightness in this book. I guess Noah’s visit with his mom is supposed to be a light moment, but my overall impression when I was finished was kind of a general blahness. I didn’t feel lighter or excited or inspired by love or any of that. The conversations about who would give up what for love went on too long.
5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful romance 20 March 2016

This is a slow burn office romance done right with emphasis on romance.
I adored both of these MCs. Aiden and Noah were fantastic, solid characters. I loved the pace of their relationship. From great teamwork to friendship to finally giving in to their feelings and engaging in a romantic relationship. They were genuine with one another and completely devoted to each other. Both putting the other first over their careers.
I was not a fan of that troublemaker Marcus. But I know R.J. Jones will be redeeming him in the next book.
If you are looking for a low angst, well written romance, I definitely recommend you check this one out! 5 stars

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Two-For-One 5 July 2016
By Bo - Published on Amazon.com

Sorry if this annoys you but I can't write a separate review for each book--you simply have to read the first one because it's so terrific, and then you must read the second because of the MC who was so apparently creepy and crummy in the first.

Aiden (foreground on the cover) and Noah bump into each other coming off the subway in London, strike each other as hot, and go their separate ways. Not quite. Read the blurb of "As the Leaves Fall" for the outline. What is key here is that Jones carries off a difficult narrative task by alternating the POV in each chapter. The amazing thing is that she gets into the head (and under the skins) of these exceptionally brilliant but love-sick men and takes you on a wonderfully relaxing journey to fulfillment.

Along the way their developing relationship is stalked and almost battered by Marcus, a devious sort of colleague who seems a bit off center each time he appears, and is definitely not one to be trusted, or liked.

How ironic, then, that he should become one of the two MCs, along with Adam, in "As the Ice Melts," the second in the series, also told in alternating POV chapters. He's the blond in the foreground on the cover and his story is far more complex, and gripping, and heart wrenching, than that of Aiden and Noah. Whereas those two are pretty much on their own in their book, Marcus is surrounded by a cluster of real, and well developed, characters, such as his Gran, Adam and is mum, and his best mates Colin and Jerry.

This book should not be considered a stand-alone, even if Aiden and Noah don't appear. You have to read theirs to get into the mood for Marcus and Adam which is a wonderful continuation of an attitude by an author who is pretty good at developing them.

I really, really liked it. You had a way of working those two together although it took long enough for them to wind up together but they were together ! I'm looking forward to book two. Thank you.
