Lease on the Beach

Book 2 in the Damaged Goods Series

A new lease on life….

After a brush with death, Jackie Parker has big plans to lie low for a while. The best laid plans didn’t check in with her stressful job as part of Damaged Goods property management—or her drama queen mother.

When one of their clients is found brutally murdered, and a recently evicted tenant is a suspect, Jackie vows to Luke and Logan that this time she’ll stay out of the fray. After all, she’s not a detective and they have more than enough on their plate. A rogue RV, drug dealers, furies, snakes and monkeys, oh my!

Plus there’s a rival property management company determined to ruin Damaged Goods, a kidnapping and a sexy animal lover looking to cause trouble in Jackie's already rocky marriage. The Magic City’s sassiest process server is sitting on a powder keg of crazy and the two men in her life are playing with matches. One thing’s for sure, as far as Jackie's concerned this isn’t a day at the beach.

better than the first book Jackie, Luke and Logan are back with loads more fireworks.
Marriage is hard especially with a love triangle adding to it between jackie and the boys but really there is to much going on for romance of any kind with secrets, lies and mysteries to solve Jackie has not time for anything but getting the job done even if it ends up costing her marriage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eviction Specialist......and the things you see. 24 February 2015

This is book 2 of the, A Damaged Goods Mystery series.
It is sophisticated humor, with an undercurrent of sarcasm,
that runs amok through the story.
The banter between the characters will have you laughing,
and reading as fast as you can.
The story is a continuation of the first book, which I hope you
have read.
What was that?
You want a few tidbits of the story?
Ok, but just a few.
There is a man wearing elephant underwear, with the trunk
in the front....
There is a man wearing a full dog costume, and he barks
at people, I think he is a furry, or a flurry.
There is also a Meth Lab, this is where our heroes get their truck
errrr truck-jacked.
Oh yeah.......someone might be pregnant.
Enjoy your trip back to Miami.

[ I received this book free from the author . I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255 “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising]

Jackie and the Parker Brothers aka Damaged Goods are at it again! Throw in her mother, the NJ mob, twins,"furries"and a monkey and you have the strangest brew of "what in the world"? you might want to find anywhere.

Damaged Goods, the property management company they started has gotten a few clients even after their first outings. They've even made "nice" with the cops because communication seems to be the way to keep these three on the straight and narrow, or at least on the good side of the law.

Luke seems to have developed some weird form of psychological trama, Jackie keeps losing her phone ( and what looks like her husband and what's left of her sanity) and, in order to serve her evictions on behalf of her clients she has to find the renters to begin with. What follows is another mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Well worth the effort. 5 stars

5.0 out of 5 stars Jennifer L. Hart's books always offer the unexpect along with laughs and great characters. 20 January 2015

The unique and fascinating Lease on the Beach is even better than Final Notice, if you can believe that, and I loved, loved, loved Final Notice. Jennifer Hart has an amazing ability to pull me through a roller coaster ride of emotions with both the development of the full plot and with a single twist of phrase. Jackie, her lead character and the process server for Damaged Goods property management, is an intelligent independent woman who does not want to be protected, too much, by her husband and his brother. Now that the “big issue” from the first book is out, she expects life to go forward into that dream she built of living a regular life with her husband Luke, but they are so far from it that she is lost in how to handle her marriage to an ex-marine who spent most of their six years of marriage deployed. One minute he is the guy she married and the next he is someone else entirely. Then there is the ongoing battle with her brother-in-law who seems to understand her better than her husband.
AND that is before the twists and turns of murders and kidnapping even begin. Running a property management company would be tough enough with problem evictions but since Jackie started working for her husband and his brother Logan their propensity for finding dead bodies and trouble is interfering with their payday.

What a fun book. Snarky and smart. Thank you Jennifer Hart for an entertaining read. Hate to admit it but I had an anxiety attack when I finished because the third book hadn't arrived yet!

It is nearly impossible not to related to the klutzy and funny leading lady. And who wouldn't want the Dark Prince? This book was fun to read and made me laugh out loud more than once. I do wish there was more in the series but sadly there are only the three books but they are a good read and something I will read over again.
