Product Description

Chin laughed. “Doctor, I didn’t realize you dabbled in the arcane arts of power politics. A regular Machiavelli! What reason could you possibly have for getting involved in all that political infighting in Tehran?”
“Five million reasons.” Now it was Dr. Ahmadian’s turn to laugh. “You think we all do this for prestige? Love of the fatherland, maybe? No, I’m sorry to have to say it, Mr. Chin, but in this world, money talks, and it speaks Farsi as well as it does English.”
“Five million dollars, is it?” Chin asked. “Odds are, you never get to spend it.”
Dr. Ahmadian’s eyes narrowed. “We’ll see, Mr. Chin. We’ll see.” He looked over at Col. Ts’ao. “Colonel, I find Mr. Chin no longer amuses me. Feel free to use that big thing on him anytime.”
Col. Ts’ao turned away from Chin for a moment. He glanced over at Dr. Ahmadian and started to smile. Col. Ts’ao never saw the knife coming. It flew out of Chin’s hand, catching the colonel in the gut. You could almost hear the hissing noise as the colonel deflated and dropped to the floor.
Chin turned back to Dr. Ahmadian. To Chin’s chagrin, he found himself staring down the business end of an over-sized .45 automatic pistol.
“Doctor, let’s not be hasty here,” Chin spluttered.
“Mr. Chin, as I said, you no longer amuse me. We’ve wasted enough time here. Let’s get you down to the launch tunnel. Easiest way I know of to dispose of a human body. Now move!”
Iran’s mullahs will stop at nothing to secure a nuclear missile that can destroy Israel. As a weak and vacillating US president engages Iran in endless multilateral talks, the mullahs see their chance, moving decisively to implement a sophisticated international financial scheme to fund their ambitious nuclear program. They are assisted in reaching this goal by their new-found ally, the president of the Republic of Turkey. Long viewed as a staunch secular friend of the West, Turkey has decided—in the face of an irresolute US—that it must play its own hand in the increasingly byzantine, Islamist world of Middle East power politics.
US intelligence agent Adam Chin and his gorgeous soulmate, Indian intelligence operative Colonel Supriya Lal, are on a ‘busman’s holiday’ in Central Asia, when they stumble across evidence that Iran is engaged in a secret gold mining operation to fund its illegal nuclear weapons acquisitions. The trail leads Chin and Lal from Tahskent, across southwest Asia to Istanbul, then inexorably to Tehran. Here, Chin and Lal must figure out how to thwart an imminent nuclear missile launch by Iran that will reap a second Holocaust for Israel, and alter the balance of power in the Middle East forever. Racing against the clock to stop Iran’s mullahs, the two agents are caught up not just in the intrigue surrounding Iran’s intelligence operation, but also in the unexpected political cross-fire from Washington, where an iron-willed secretary of state—with one eye on impending US elections—takes on her feckless boss, the president of the United States, who is oblivious to the fate of democracy in the Middle East. Will Chin and Lal stop the missile launch in time to save Israel?
