I am so glad I discovered Loretta Chase`s. books ,this one is my favourite I loved the characters Lydia and Vere. What a fantastic book.I always found in all the different genres of books I have read that my favourite hero was ROURKE in the "In Death Series " but Vere is absolutely mad,bad and fantastic.I don't know how I have missed Lorettas books but I am so pleased that I found them.I love the humour she brings to her books and I will carry on reading them.Thank you Loretta for making me laugh out loud and also for bringing tears to my eyes. Not since Georgette Hyers books have I read books set in the Ton of the 1800s that do justice to the period and I have read very many.I love books of all kinds True Historical ones and Romantic history but a lot are so poorly written and full of Americanism that I find a lot of the time I just skip a lot but not this author's.Long may you reign Loretta....

I sometimes feel that this wonderful story suffers by comparison to LoS but it shouldn't. It stands in its own right a fantastic story . I love how we are brought to understand the emotional mpact of the devastating loss of so many family members on Ainswood especially the loss of 9 year old Robin- indeed I defy anyone to read that and not cry. Lydia too has had to bear the loss of family members and the impact of a feckless father. How they come together is wonderful. The further glimpses of Dain and Jessica are excellent and the resolution of a wonderful romance for Bertie was the icing on a delicious cake. Not many books make my cry both with sadness and laughter but this did. Highly recommended

Entertaining well written light-hearted fluffReviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 October 2018
Didn't notice any particular historical inaccuracies. Think the might have been a couple of alrights in there which ms heyer would frown on. But on the whole, well-written well plotted
Brilliant!Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 January 2017
I absolutely LOVED The Last Hellion! I love the hero- Vere- and the heroine- Lydia. They are such strong, fun and wonderful characters! Every moment of the book was entertaining and Chase entwines so much history without ever boring the reader. Her heros are always the perfect mix.
An excellent sequel to Lord of ScoundrelsReviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 September 2015
The dreadful cad who offends The Lord of Scoundrels when he refuses to believe Dain's lady is in fact his wife gets his due desserts in this novel. Lydia is more than his match and their love story is quite a battle of wills. It's lovely to encounter Dain and Jessica again too.
