If you keep them in the fridge, not only do they last longer (I used them for 2 to 3 weeks and they were fine; that might not be the case if you tend to leak, though), they feel heavenly. I tried them in the freezer, too, and while they felt even better then, they really didn't stick when frozen.
I strongly recommend spreading some lanolin or coconut oil on your nipples before putting these pads on to prevent them from sticking. It hurts to peel them off when they stick!
I only got one pair, which the cat found and I've since somehow also misplaced. (There might be a correlation...) I maybe should have gotten two, but managed with one. These plus lanolin got us over the initial hurdle.
One thing: you get so used to them, you might forget they're on. Baby generally is not understanding of this.
Comfort: I put mine in the fridge to give it a nice cooling effect as other reviewers suggested. When I tried them it actually burned. Not sure what chemicals is in it, but it took a minute for my body to adjust. The comfort really wasn’t from the gel itself, but more so that something was protecting my sore nipples from rubbing on my shirts/bras.
Easy to use: It’s easy to stick them on, but they didn’t stay very stick. It’s not because they were old or absorbed a lot from me, they just simply didn’t stick well. Also, I really don’t like the idea of having to wash my nipples before each application. When baby is constantly at the breast those first few days it’s too much effort to have to constantly wash. It’s also very irritating to sore and drying to nipples to have to constantly wash.
It’s also a very pricey product for a 72 hour use.
