The prose is very well written and the descriptions are lovely. It was easy to picture the architecture and historical haunts the characters were placed in. Since this story is highly drenched in history, there’s a lot of “telling” in the first half of the book. I was ever so thankful to have the authors provide the chapter with their notes. They graciously clued us in on which items were fact, fiction or “inspired by”. I found myself heading off on investigative tangents more than a few times; good motivation.
With clean language and professional editing, this is a a two hour soul stretching thriller, sure to educate & entertain📚
This book does not have the style, the rhythm, the pacing, or the complexity of a Steve Berry book; rather only a character from the Cotton Malone world. I wonder that Mr. Berry isn't embarrassed to have his name on the book.
