Open the pages of this book and escape for a little while into the realm of Lords and Ladies as well as milkmaids and farmers .....where usually, never the twain shall meet! This is a keeper. I am thrilled with my first reading of this author. This story has great emotion and depth of character development, a rarity lately in my book buying experience. The timeline is a little jumpy as I feel the plot was interesting enough for another few chapters. But overall, a great find and an author I will be indulging my time and money upon in the future.

This is the tenth novel of Jackie Ivie's I have read. I love how she allows you to get to know the characters by the words they say rather than bouncing you back and forth between the thoughts of characters as some novelists rely upon so heavily. Jackie also has a unique way of allowing the hero and heroine to misunderstand each other in ways that highlight how very different men and women are. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, and I highly recommend Knight in White Satin and Lady of the Knight as well as this novel.
