First. OMG! i loved this story!! Olivia Digby is a lower middle class lass who lives with her father and sisters in a poor section of London. Olivia is a writer and writes stories for her sisters - of fairytales. Nathaniel Norton is a young Lord newly elevated to replace his late father as Earl. The meet in the streets, and he is very kind to her. By complete surprise Olivia receives a letter from Dowager Duchess Kirby, who requests her to come for a visit. Not knowing what she is summoned for she believes it could be for a job. She dresses in the only finery she has - her late mothers gown. The Dowager Duchess after meeting Olivia meets with her grandson and informs him that he must marry this girl! Nathaniel had only "just" broken off his arranged betrothal because he realizes that he doesn't want a marriage like his parents and wants a marriage based on love! I thoroughly enjoyed this story, it was so entertaining, i truly couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen...so read late into the night! Olivia is such a determined woman, she wants the best for her sisters, father and herself. She isn't going to accept anyone talking down to her or putting her down. Her response to Nathan's rudeness, shames him. And he endeavours to make amends. And as he does so, he falls in love. There are misunderstandings, confrontations, running away, broken promises and heartache - lots of drama! But the way the plot, characters and the HEA is just pure magic! Recommended!
A gentle amble with two very likable characters. Their developing love for each other and their newly acquired appreciation of their misconceptions of class make for a very enjoyable book. The love and support of the three sisters to one another is another dimension that was very nicely expressed as well Thank You for another delightful tale
Loved this book and it's fairytale theme. There was heartbreak, sorrow, love abounding, an intrigue from the past to bring them back together and of course, happy ever after as shown in the epilogue. This is another well written book by Ms Ayles that I recommend to all readers of well written historical romance.
One of the best books I have in a while loved the story of Olivia and Nathaniel Granmother was very sly at the start of the story but Olivia was not telling here Father what was going on loved the other characters in the book it had ups and downs twists and turns setbacks didn't think they would ever get together and get married you should really this book.
A big secret in this story and questions as to why a titled lady endeavours to marry off her titled grandson to a improvised young lady who writes fairy tales for her sisters. Of course we have the fairy tale ending

A case of what was meant to be......Olivia, the eldest of three sisters, went to the market one day and literally bumped into a young Lord. Then everything changes when she is called to meet with a mysterious wealthy woman of the upper echelons of society. Nathaniel has come to realise that he has to end the engagement made by his father years before. His grandmother then finds him another candidate for his hand in marriage, but this is something he did not think would happen. After his first disastrous meeting with Olivia he realises that she is the one for him. Now he must convince her and her father....and when his grandmother reveals a secret that happened years before. What could happen to these two young people, will they get their happy ending. I received this book for free and voluntarily received.
This is utter drivel. However I don’t have a romantic bone in my body so someone may like it. I skimmed through it wondering how it ever got published.
