Loved it.

I found this Georgian romp thoroughly entertaining and finished it in a day. The characters were well drawn and believable and the book as a whole well written with lots of humorous moments. There was a twist halfway which I didn't see coming. All in all, I would definitely recommend this book to someone looking for a fun, class-crossing romance.

Loved the plot

I loved Cyrus, his character portrayal of a rich business commoner stuck me as realistic with his caring for his many sisters and his 3 nephews - the plot was outstanding with many twists and turns as Cyrus defeats his foes in business - I was stunned that the Marquis became a villain, I liked him thought he might get his own love story - Claire was a disappointing character, sometimes so firm in her ideals of being a woman alone in business and respected as an upright woman but then she would change her personality and want to remove clothing right now, very inconsistent

Good story line

Good story line...liked the H as he was he showed himself to genuinely love the h and put her first in his life, although, I found it odd that his ex-mistress always seemed to be hanging around his house and the fast friendship between the h and the mistress was unrealistic. The h was independent, which I liked, but I didn't love her character (her request the 1st time they were intimate was odd and a little off putting for me - it was almost like she wanted to be treated like a whore, not with love).

Stupid heroine
Reviewed in the United States on 22 November 2017Verified Purchase
Dnf at the 40% mark. I really don’t understand all the good reviews. The Hero doesn’t rent to females unless she has a man sign the lease for her. Jerky right? Well then you meet the heroine and you understand his reasoning! Because he won’t rent to her, she sneaks into his house during a ball to forge his signature and then uses her feminine wiles to escape when he catches her. You’d think she would redeem herself by opening her business and being wildly successful due to her amazing business acumen. No. She opens her coffee shop with no business plan! She doesn’t even keep a ledger! She spends all her money on stenciling coffee mugs and fancy signs. I feel she is probably the exact stereotype of why he wants a man to be on the lease! She keeps her only item of value in a coffee can in her shop and is surprised when it’s stolen. She, for some reason thinks the hero stole it even though he has no reason to. She is beyond stupid. I’m assuming the Hero has to step in and save her but I’m guessing at that because I couldn’t finish it.
