The story begins just before the outbreak of the 1st World War and follows 3 friend's, who are in the military. Set mainly in Iraq, it also takes in India. Normally I wouldn't have read a book set in this period or area, but I am so glad I did. I could not put it down and I cannot wait for the sequel, I want to know what happens to Harry, John and the rest of the characters, I hope I do not have to wait to long.
