DisappointingReviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 December 2013
The synopsis for this promised an entertaining read. The storyline was good but I found Carolyn impossibly irritating and rather silly. There were times when I thought two people might be writing this book. There were flashes of really good writing which were then spoiled either by almost childish prose or the silly scenarios - hugging buffalo for instance and then at the end the actions of Lone Arrow's horse which seemed to turn into a circus performer. Such a shame!
Book Did NOT ARRIVEReviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 March 2014
Cannot comment on the contents, state or item in anyway as it was "not" received! Read some of her other books, which were greatly enjoyed. Upset though that others are not available in print?!....
My first Native American romanceReviewed in the United States on 13 February 2018
Lone Arrow's Pride was my first Native American romance and also my first book by Karen Kay. It look me a little while to get into the book, but once I was in I couldn't get enough. I found the romance really intriguing. It wasn't an easily won romance, in that I was held in suspense over whether or not the two characters, Carolyn and Lone Arrow, would end up together. It took awhile for Lone Arrow to fully trust Carolyn, as well, so the state of his feelings towards her kind of remained a mystery. For me, this made a very satisfying romance. I also love how the two met as children and had a very believable interaction. I've since read more by thus author and, currently, I'm enjoying one of her books!
