About the Author
Max Hawthorne was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Philadelphia, where he graduated with a BA from Central High School and a BFA from the University of the Arts. He is the author of MEMOIRS OF A GYM RAT, an outrageous exposé of the health club industry, as well as the award-winning KRONOS RISING novel series. In addition to being a best-selling indie author, he is a voting member of the Author's Guild, an IGFA world record-holding angler, and an avid sportsman and conservationist. His hobbies include archery, fishing, boating, boxing, and the collection of fossils and antiquities. He lives with his family and an impossibly large rabbit in the Greater Northeast.

And there is so much action that it becomes annoying. And the worst thing is that author is serious. A bit of humor may excuse a lot in this story, a bit of moderation will also do it good, but it is flashbang rollercoster concentrated action and a lot of it. With cop with drink problem, sexy environmentalist, blond villain and Japanese poachers. Oh, and Russian mercenary and crazy US senator are there also.
If you can switch off the brain to enjoy this kind of story, you will like it. Any grain of salt will spoil the experience.
All in all a fine addition to the bookshelf where it now sits next to 'Jaws.'
I thought the book was well researched which help to meld the technology, the characters, and the environment together into a believable whole.
But all that being said I can't say I really enjoyed it. The best way I could categorize it would be to say it would be a good beach read - a long as you planned to stay out of the water.
don't think the final chapter [after the end of the novel] was needed, a follow book should be coming anyway.
really enjoyed this---exciting as hell.
