Have only recently discovered this author. Heard her speak last night at CharlestownLibrary, a Lake Macquarie Libraries initiative. Sandie was so natural and honest. Loved this book and the characters in it. So happy threads were followed through and solutions found when needed. Looking forward to reading the second novel by Sandie Docker now, ‘The Cottage at Rosella Cove’.
This was one of my favourite books of 2018. I loved the quirky characters and quaint setting of the Kookaburra Creek cafe. Every character had their own story to tell and their lives intertwined seamlessly. Found it hard to put down as I was so invested in the characters and needed to know what happened in the end. A fabulous read.
This is one rich and delicious story, that was very slow to start - it took me an age to really get into it BUT wow, I cried with delight at the end, with the pure pleasure of it's richness...I loved this book - congratulations to Sandie Docker!
I selected this book randomly, but so glad I did. I loved the story, the characters and the setting. Such a heartwarming lovely read. This book would make a beautiful movie! I visualised the cooking through the story and what a delightful ending to find the recipes all there! Now I can't wait to produce my first batch of Kookaburra Creek Cafe cupcakes, but which flavour shall I choose?
