I'm assuming the toy company didn't receive the rights to replicate the looks of the original 80s California plate style that reads "KITT", but that can be fixed with a little creativity.
The only other issue is how KITT's front sensor light turns on, which is activated (10 sec) -- only by opening the driver's side door. By having the option to either press down on the entire car or some other accent on its exterior would have sufficed.
I'm not a techi, so the best alternative I could think of was to disassemble the car and reposition the light switch.
