Product Description

Army vet Brant Jacobs is determined not to screw up his first assignment with Team Ambra. Sneak in, retrieve a stolen historical treasure and disappear. Easy...up until a woman in yoga pants stumbles upon his less than legal exchange of goods. She attracts too much trouble to be left on her own, but bringing her along might put his mission – and his heart – in the greatest danger of all.

Michaela Alberto only took the stupid delivery job out of necessity. How the crap she wound up here - between the barrel of a mobster's gun and some super secret government agent - is beyond unfair. Now they're on the run and Brant promises her safety, but trusting the handsome stranger might be the hardest job she's ever had.

Book 1 of the bestselling Action Adventure Romance Series, Mercenaries of Fortune!

The plot in this book is crafted by a brilliant imagination. It is also very funny, the romance and suspense is amazing as everything seems to go wrong, but totally ends up totally right. I still have a goofy smile on my face well after I have finished reading it. Read this book, it is really really good. I fell in love with the characters in the book. The settings take you places you won't want to go!

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst Heroine Ever! 14 April 2016

So much potential wasted here. The heroine stumbles into witnessing a murder. The hero rescues her by shooting most of the bad guys. From there, the story goes to hell. The heroine is not just dumb, she is a stupid, whiny, self-focused bitch. Instead of being appreciative of her life and of the efforts the hero has taken on her behalf, she is forever whining that it wasn't her idea to leave and the situations they find themselves in aren't fun. Wow. I stopped reading this one when I was rooting for the remaining bad guy to shoot her. The author isn't real concerned about inconsistencies, either. This heroine, who does not party in her regular life, simply MUST go to a party when in a very dangerous country running for her life. Hum. How does that work now? I'd think that she would be frozen with fear and taking all the hero's suggestions quickly and with gratitude. This is the very worst heroine I have seen. Assuming that this author likes this character, I will not be reading any more of her books. Pity she can't give her ideas to someone else to develop.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not real plausible and I was rooting for the chick to die because she was so whiny 5 September 2016

I got this book as a free Kindle download. My practice is to give two stars to books that I am able to complete. This one was a little better than the average book I was barely able to finish so I'm giving it 3 stars. Very little in this book is plausible. The characters are not believable either. The only thing it has going for it is pretty much nonstop action. I never could quite figure out why any entity with the kind of money that the Knights of Umbra have would care about some old junk. Just not important enough to go get. And of course this secret group has near magical powers like being able to conjure up air marshal badges and such as needed. They also have hackers that help them.

The story line here is a delivery chick for a laundry service gets caught in the middle of a shootout between a Knight of Ambra and some guy that has a sword they want. Somehow this convinces the Knight to take her with him. She is pretty much unlikeable but I guess she's good in bed so he kept her. There follows some kind of goofy plot where they go to Honduras and try to steal the sword from a drug dealer who bought it.
5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE, LOVE, LOVED it! Adventure + Danger = Romance, of Course! 23 April 2016

This was the first book of Lyn's that I have read! AWESOME! I loved it from page one with neverending action!

I know it will sound like I have copied other reviewers, I haven't, but they have already said it all!

Brant Jacobs works for a secret Government Agency, the Order of Ambra, which finds and protects ancient artifacts at any costs. For a heavy price, I might add. His current mission, his first solo one as a Knight of Ambra, is to get in, collect the sword of Ancient Rome’s greatest enemy, Hannibal of Carthage and get out. It should have been that simple. But let's face it, nothing is every really that simple is it?

Michaela Alberto, who seems to owe everyone, works delivering and picking up laundry for her boss. On one of her deliveries/pick-ups she finds more than "laundry" is waiting for her. She never thought she would be the one to interrupt something so important. That is if you call a mob hit important. She never thought that one little pick up could change her life like it did.

This is when Brant shows up to collect the artifact and how they meet. The action continues on keeping you on the edge of your seat. It not only includes danger and adventure but also some light humor and OF COURSE Romance for our two heroes.

I LOVED THIS BOOK and recommend it and this author and series to everyone! You will NOT be sorry that you did. However, you may have issues getting anything done once you begin to read it!

And NO I DID NOT receive an ARC copy for a good review, it was ALL ON MY OWN!!!! However, I would LOVE to be and ARC reader for this series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely adorable! 16 October 2016

The Knight of Ambra is a romance of a different kind - the kind I couldn't put down. A wonderfully quirky cross between a James Bond thriller and a screwball comedy, the plot is one part action, one part romance, and one part just plain delusional. I adored the two main characters, both of whom are clever, earnest, endearing, and a few french fries short of a Happy Meal. The writing is perfectly understated and tongue-in-cheek. I smiled the whole way through the book. Oh, please, I want more!
