Product Description

Modern knighthood ain't easy...

Brant Jacobs is determined not to screw up his first mission as a Knight of Ambra. Sneak in, retrieve the stolen artifact and disappear. Easy…right up until a woman in yoga pants stumbles through the wrong door at the wrong friggin’ time. She’s too cute and too innocent to be left on her own, but bringing her along might put them in the greatest danger of all.

Michaela Alberto only took the stupid delivery job out of necessity. How the crap she wound up here – between the barrel of a mobster’s gun and some super secret government agent – is beyond unfair. Now they're on the run and Brant promises her safety, but what happens when he has her life…and her heart…in his hands?

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst Heroine Ever! 14 April 2016
By caroljohns827 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
So much potential wasted here. The heroine stumbles into witnessing a murder. The hero rescues her by shooting most of the bad guys. From there, the story goes to hell. The heroine is not just dumb, she is a stupid, whiny, self-focused bitch. Instead of being appreciative of her life and of the efforts the hero has taken on her behalf, she is forever whining that it wasn't her idea to leave and the situations they find themselves in aren't fun. Wow. I stopped reading this one when I was rooting for the remaining bad guy to shoot her. The author isn't real concerned about inconsistencies, either. This heroine, who does not party in her regular life, simply MUST go to a party when in a very dangerous country running for her life. Hum. How does that work now? I'd think that she would be frozen with fear and taking all the hero's suggestions quickly and with gratitude. This is the very worst heroine I have seen. Assuming that this author likes this character, I will not be reading any more of her books. Pity she can't give her ideas to someone else to develop.

5.0 out of 5 stars Indiana Jones for the 21st Century!!! 25 April 2015
By Nikki Brooks - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Michaela Alberto, courier extraordinaire, is up to her ears in debt. Whilst picking up at one of her stops she walks in on a gun toting mobster and her already crappy life has just tanked!!!

There is a man pointing a gun at Mr. Lugesti and he kills him right in front of her and then turns the gun on her…In bursts Brant Jacobs, mystery man and knight with a shiny gun. A member of the mysterious Order of Ambra (cross Jason Bourne and Indiana Jones and you come near how awesome Brant is!!), they acquire and protect antiquities. He is on his first solo mission, the training wheels are off and he is trying to reclaim the sword of Hannibal of Carthage.

However, there is a dead man on the floor and a terrified woman with a gun held to her head. He loses the sword but save the girl in their escape. He decides the only way she doesn't get herself dead is to take her with him, which is against soooo many rules his head hurts trying to think of them all.

What follows is an awesome adventure tale, with passionate moments and genuine laugh out loud moments. I loved Brant and he has a real sense of loyalty and responsibility towards Michaela, who is now trapped in his world. Their antics and madcap but they are ideal heroes. I got sucked into the story and can't wait for the next book. I usually read Lyn's sci-fi books but this lew me away and I need MORE!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Non-stop action, what a great series starter! 13 May 2015
By Janet - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Non-stop action, what a great series starter! I am so impressed by Lyn Brittan's ability to launch a new series, taking care of all the necessary introductions and scene setting without losing the momentum of the story. This action/suspense/romance is so very balanced and well crafted. Ms. Brittan writes with humor which I found delightful, and the dialogue is witty and first rate. The primary and secondary characters are equally as fully dimensional and interesting, which bodes well for future series entries. The passion factor is high, and the romantic elements quite satisfactory. I look forward to book two.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Loved It! 19 April 2015
By Sara A - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I received The Knight of Ambra as an ARC and I loved it!

Michaela Alberto is in so much debt trying to make it in the world and she is all alone. Working one of her many jobs she picks up dirty laundry and leaves the clean laundry with only bike to get her to where she needs to go. There was only one stop that she only ever picked up and never dropped off anything on one of her routine stops she goes into Mr. Lugesti’s restaurant to pick up the normal delivery only to find him red faced with his hands sticking out shaking. The man pointing a gun at Mr. Lugesti she dubs as Cigar Man ends up killing him right in front of her and then turns the gun on her…

Brant Jacobs duty of the Order of Ambra is to protect antiquities and the world’s priceless treasures at any cost. He is on his first solo mission as a Knight of Ambra all he has to do is go into the restaurant and buy or retrieve the sword of Ancient Rome’s greatest enemy, Hannibal of Carthage. However, when he walks in there is a dead man and a woman with a gun held to her head. He ends up getting her out of there but loses the sword in the process. He decides the best way to keep her safe from the MOB and the other players in the game is for her to stay with him, so he takes her with him to retrieve the sword but starts to fall for Michaela. Falling for her would only complicate his life’s work.

Will Brant be able to keep Michaela safe and retrieve the sword or will the sword be lost? Will he continue to fight his feelings for her or give into them?
