He was tall, ripped, and had the voice of a man twice his age.
Sent to live with his dad after getting in some trouble with the law, he was definitely someone I needed to stay away from.
But he had his sights set on me, and he didn’t try to hide it.
Did it still make me a cougar if I was the prey?

About the author

Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped. She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.
She is now a mother of three girls. The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. And to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.

A tale of love with that perfect age gap that's not creepy, has a great story line and not all up in your face with sex.
Ash and Kristy were a well suited couple that faced the everg day obstacles, nothing unrealistic and an all round enjoyable read.

Kristy Richards bought her first house and was so pleased with her new home. A place that her and her sixteen-year-old daughter could call their own. She shared custody with Emma's father, but spent the school year with her. The first neighbor that Kristy met was Asher. She couldn't move, couldn't speak, too stunned at the utter perfection that was Asher Jenkins. He hadn't stayed long that day, nor had he talked much, but his reluctance to let her finish unpacking her car on her own was enough to acknowledge his complete alpha-male personality.
Asher and Kristy met again at their community pool. Kristy guessed he was in his early twenties, and hoped he was at least twenty-one. She was very attracted to him and after years of being alone, thought she could have some kind of physical relationship with him. She was shocked when he was also attracted to her, but was insistent they needed to get to know each other better before any physical activity. In her frustration it was hard for her not to fault him if his standards were better then her own.
Sent to live with his dad after getting in trouble with the law, Asher had been under house arrest with his father as the warden for years. He had turned from a deviant fifteen-year-old to an eighteen-year-old that was more mature physically and mentally then any thirty-five-year old. He had the intellect of someone far older. Even ran a furniture-making business out of his Dad's garage. He was grown-up and had a mature outlook on everything. He had drive and determination. What he didn't have yet was a high school diploma.
This was one of those frustrating forbidden romances, that you can never see having a good ending until the very last. Kristy was afraid she wanted something society would condemn her for. Asher felt they connected to each other on every level. Complicated!!

Kristy is a young, single mom with a sixteen year old. Having a daughter, when she was just slightly older than her daughter is now, came with both obstacles and sacrifices.
Kristy finally has her own house. And a hot young neighbor. She’s gone without so much while raising her daughter, now she just wants a little fun with the hot neighbor.
Ash sees Kristy the day she moves in and it’s a mutual, instant attraction. He knows she’s older, but she has no idea just how young he is.
A slow burn relationship begins. The heat is there. And Ash can talk dirty and get her all hot and bothered, but he always stops there. The age gap bothers her, so they keep their attraction secret. However, she’s ready for more than just sexy banter.
Ash has his secrets. He’s holding back for fear of losing her. But by holding back the truth, he may just lose her before he ever really had her.
This story had undeniable chemistry! It was HOT. But it also brought the reality of how complicated a relationship like theirs could be. Ash was a sexy, alpha, dirty-talker with all the right words. Kristy was a hard-working, dedicated mom willing to sacrifice her own happiness for the sake of her daughter’s.
Life is not always easy, but in the end it’s worth living your best life and loving completely! That is where you find true happiness.

Kristy and Asher’s story is a well balanced hot, confusing, emotional roller coaster. There are laugh out loud moments, eyes glued to the page Wow-That-Was-HOT Moments, and I’m gonna cry moments. “It was like racing down a highway with warnings of the road closed ahead, seeing them, yet telling myself I would exit the interstate before that happened.” These characters are relatable and the relationship between them develops realistically (and legally!). That being said, although Kiss My Ash doesn’t have the gut punch I’ve come to expect from Leddy Harper books, I thoroughly enjoyed it. This author always manages to capture your emotions, while adding the heat, and hold them hostage until the very end!

Large age gap .... yep
Younger male, older female .... yep
All the feels .... yep
Terrific story .... yep yep yep
KISS MY ASH was forbidden love at its sweetest. Seventeen year old Asher Jenkins has fallen hard for his thirty-two year of neighbour Kristy Richards. Not really your typical romance story, but this one definitely has everything that your heart could desire - a smooth talking, dirty mouthed alpha and a woman who is heavily tempted by what he has to offer.
Kristy is a single mum, raising her sixteen year old daughter. She's finally starting to make some progress with her life - she's bought her first home. Unfortunately (or is it fortunately) it just happens to be right next door to Ash's, a young man who captures her eye from the very first moment she sees him. She ignores the feelings he brings out in her - but the same can't be said of Ash. He likes what he sees and he is determined to get what he wants.
There's no instant sex, instead this is a relationship that builds slowly. The chemistry between the two is undeniable, however, it is the secrets that Ash holds that may bring their world crashing down around them.
Ms Harper did such a wonderful job with this story, giving both the pros and cons of such a relationship. The emotions were all present: guilt, lust, frustration, anger, happiness and of course love. What really stood out for me though was the maturity of Ash. Yes, at times he did act his age, but more often then not he was the voice of reason.
My first novel by Leddy Harper, and I gotta say, if all her stories are as good as this one, I'll definitely be reading more. Simply superb.
