Product Description

“I am sixteen years old and I will die on the morning of my seventeenth birthday. As tradition dictates, I will be sacrificed and my life’s blood will determine which one of my two brothers will be King. My blood will kill one and crown one. My name is Everleigh and I am the Kingmaker.”

The legend of the Kingmaker goes back millions of years. Their magic chooses the rightful King of the Realm and they all die on their seventeenth birthday.

Except this one.

Everleigh is special.

She is the Kingmaker who will live, the Kingmaker who will rule, the Kingmaker who will be Queen.

But not everyone agrees with an age old prophecy that says that a girl will rule the Realm and soon Everleigh is locked in a deadly battle for the throne.

4.0 out of 5 stars Engaging and refreshing 6 June 2017

I liked this series, its the first thing I have read by this author. I have read all 3 books. They are decently paced and the story line rolls out neatly, there are some twist I did not see coming which is nice. Being able to always guess gets boring. Most of the chapters are labeled as to who is talking to you or telling the story. Sometimes it not so clearly pointed out, and it may take a few lines to figure out who is saying what but I was always able to pick it up quickly. The story is a first person point of view but told by different people through out. I would personally like an after thought kind of book from the future saying how things are being handled (don't want to give to much away). I think the ending could have been more elaborate just from the drama of the first two and the drama of the kingmaker. All in all a very good read and would love to find out what else this author has to offer. Not my usual book choice, but I am glad I stumbled across it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A cruel world 10 January 2017

This was a very unique tale. Never have I seen this take on a choosing ritual for the next regent. The previous king is essentially thrown aside and 2 of his children will die as one becomes king. What a viciously cruel world. This book will lead you down some interesting paths and twists I would not definitely say young adult for this book, not youth readers.
2.0 out of 5 stars I give it 2 and a half stars 9 April 2017

I really wanted to like this story. It was interesting and enticing at the beginning. But .... It was written in such an annoying way that it took the fun away from reading. It has multiple points of view and they keep repeating the same events. It almost feels like fillers to get a certain page count. What made me lower the star count is the ending. Everleigh is supposedly able to control nature and inanimate objects but when push comes to shove, she doesn't use her powers to save anyone she loves.

Riveting story that grabs you and runs until the spine tingling end. All the characters are very well drawn, and the world is real!

Loved the unusual storyline, the plot twist at the end and how it is developing. Looking forward to the continuation in the 2nd book. Really want to see how eàch character evolves.
