Thin and light for one-handed reading
Now Kindle is 11% thinner and 16% lighter than the previous-generation Kindle, making it easy and comfortable to hold in one hand.
No glare in bright sunlight
Unlike reflective tablet and smartphone screens, the latest Kindle reads like paper – no annoying glare, even in bright sunlight.
Reads like the printed page
Kindle uses actual ink particles and proprietary, hand-built fonts to create crisp text similar to what you see in a physical book. The blacks and whites on the screen are uniform, improving image quality.
Battery lasts weeks, not hours
Kindle does not require power to maintain a page of text, allowing you to read for weeks on a single charge.
Kindle is purposely designed as a dedicated e-reader. Indulge your love of reading without interruptions such as e-mail alerts or push notifications.

I believe Amazon Kindle is the top of the range speaking of e-readers.
If you are a big reader, owning a Kindle will surely change your life, allowing you to read everywhere and carrying constantly with you thousands of books that you can also buy wherever you are thanks to the possibility to connect to a WIFI of your phone hotspot and access Amazon store ( and that is a HUGE plus for me).
That said, I believe that compared to the old Kindle ( the 4th generation if I am not wrong- the one with the incredibly handy buttons on the sides to turn the pages) this one is less practical as pages will change with the slightest touch of a finger or any other material. The screen is smaller and I found that the case gets scratched and stained much quicker compared to the old one ( that I use to treat very badly, always in my purse and without even a cover, but still in perfect conditions).
So Amazon, please, listen to your customers and bring back the buttons on the basic models!
Despite my complaints, I definitely recommend Kindle!
1. During reading I turn pages by accident cause I bump the touch screen, I spend ages trying to "go back" to the page I was reading but when I 'tap' to go backward it keeps moving forward.
2. I can no longer read whilst in the bath or at the beach unless I want to risk damaging it with water or sand. I used to have a waterproof case for my older style kindle or pop it into a plastic sleeve, but you can't do that with a touch screen because if anything touches the screen, your tuning pages.
3. I really have no Idea where to touch the screen to do what with the menu Im forever trying to work that out.
4. And lastly, sometimes when I tap to turn the page my Kindle will skip pages. This is the most frustrating of all. Maybe my kindle is faulty, I have no clue why it does this, but I'm happily reading, tap the screen to turn the page, & I'm lost and confused because the story is suddenly not making sense & I'm trying to go back a page, but wait, the kindle thinks I'm trying to go forward, so I'm tapping trying to go back searching for the page i was on.
I actually find this so frustrating I am ready to try another E-reader, & if I can't because technology thinks we must have touchscreen I guess I'll be going back to books.
Dear Amazon, If you actually read these reviews; maybe the option to turn off touchscreen mode during reading & bring back the side buttons, or just bring back a non-touchscreen version.
