Having spent 21 years in the Australian Army this book was a deep dive into what most people in modern society take to be a given, that "given the right circumstance every man is capable of anything" - Jung. Therefore, it is assumed that soldiers can kill. But in my military career I came across the concept of humans being unable to kill intra-species, and so this book proved what I already knew. I certainly agree with his closing thoughts on the desensitisation of violence in society. Good read.
