Product Description

From USA Today bestselling author Beth Prentice comes a mystery that's gone to the dogs...

Meet Chloe: she has a house, a best friend, and absolutely no idea how to say "no." So when her elderly neighbor asks her to surrender a little dog named Theo to the animal shelter, of course Chloe agrees. And when Theo pulls out his big puppy dog eyes, Chloe reluctantly gains a dog. And that’s when the trouble starts.

An attempted dog snatching, a break in, a masked attacker, and a hit and run all add up to big problems. Everybody seems to be looking for something. If only Chloe knew what that something was. And with a sexy new neighbor named Brody, a creepy new neighbor named Rick, and her ex-boyfriend Jack snooping around, the men in Chloe's life seem to be multiplying. With the help of her new neighbor, Chloe may just be able to figure out what key Theo holds to the whole mess...if she can keep them both alive!

You know the stuff that runs through your mind that never sees the light of your voice? Well here you get to read the thoughts of a character that are just all too familiar.
Chloe's life turns upside down when Theo (A cute dog) arrives around the same time as Brody AKA Mr Hottie. Strange things start to happen and things are not making as much sense as they used to - especially while trying to deal with the raging hormones that see Chloe melt whenever she sees Brody.

This is a cozy read that will spike your interest, make you laugh out loud and wonder which of the characters is the unleashed killer. With each turn of the page you will learn to love the characters more and more and the ending will leave you feeling all fuzzy and warm inside - and no, that's not my hormones talking!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book has laughs-love-mystery-and an adorable dog. What more could anyone want? 12 July 2015

KILLER UNLEASHED is a fun cozy mystery about a kind-hearted girl who decides to keep a neighbor's dog instead of leaving him at a dog shelter as the original owner requested when she moved into a nursing home. From there it was a frolicking read that included a lot of new neighbors, an ex-boyfriend, many unusual incidents, and one very cute dog. Anyone who likes cozy mysteries will enjoy this book as a diversion from whatever of life's little chores are demanding your attention. Between the dog, best friends, and falling in love, this book has a mysterious code and results in many B&E's and a couple murders. What more could anyone want?
4.0 out of 5 stars Warm funny romance mystery 30 September 2016
By Ellen - Published on Amazon.com

I thoroughly enjoyed this mystery. It was fast-paced funny and quite romantic all rolled into one package. I know it must be difficult in this day and age to present something that doesn't have everhot of a sexual context to it but this author has accomplished that by focusing on the mystery. It wasn't a terribly complicated mystery but it was action-packed and enough characters to keep it moving along at a very brisk pace. About the only thing I could find fault with what is a fact that we had a grown woman who seem to have such a crush on the hero that she was almost none functional around him and focused on that continually. Otherwise they were all people that you've met or find as a part of your family or neighbors or friends and many of whom you would love to be around. The way she characterized the dog made you want to just pick him up and cuddle him yourself if you were a dog person. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to have fun like breed and wants to laugh.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot guys, murder, and mysterious neighbors make this cozy one to read. 6 May 2015
By Jeanie Jackson - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Killer Unleased is a fun, complex mystery with well developed characters. When Chloe chose to keep her neighbor's dog instead of turning it over to a shelter, she thought she was doing a good thing. She and Theo had become attached to one another and her neighbor said had to give the dog up because her kids were moving her into an assisted living home that did not allow pets. Everything seems normal except that now Chloe and Theo have each other.

When odd things start happening at her neighbor's old house, Chloe does not connect it to herself until more strange things start happening. Her old boyfriend comes back, two of her new neighbors act strangely, and the hunk who moves into Betty's old house pays more attention to Chloe than she expects. Is his interest in her or is something more sinister going one. There is only one way to find out.
2.0 out of 5 stars The REAL mystery is... 9 December 2016
By Harvey Bragg - Published on Amazon.com

Review by Carolyn Bragg

The REAL mystery is... Is this really a humorous romance mystery? Unsolved murders? Yes. Mysterious goings-on? Yes. Gay best friend? Yes. Some smile-worthy humor? Yes. Romance? I don't think it counts as romance when one person is "fighting hormones" throughout the book whenever watching or being with the other person.

Swearing? Yes. If that matters to you, and it does to me, there is a lot of swearing. For me, the swearing and constant never-ending referances to the woman's hormones and tingling about a manly neighbor DISQUALIFIES this book as a cozy mystery.

There is no clue gathering or suspect listing, but the investigation leads to plenty of engaging events and danger, which makes the book interesting. I don't care much for romance in books, but if the author had been as creative with the "romance" as with the action, I wouldn't feel so conflicted about the result. It just didn't make sense.

To sum up: If you read this book, expect swearing (not vulgar, but not for polite company either). The ACTION will slowly pick up speed, then roar to the end. Don't expect romance, it is actually the woman lusting after her friendly and manly ab-ripped neighbor. There is some mild action and situation humor. The mystery mostly solves itself although there is some driving to question people.

Mysteries that remain: Why the manly neighbor's job requires him to go to job sites. How long did it actually take to fix his car? Did or didn't he have the yard landscaped after the Event? Why did he buy a black car in a very warm climate? Why would it be hard to wipe a blood "stain" off of a cabinet door? Is it a stain if it doesn't soak in?
2.0 out of 5 stars Conflicted 21 May 2017
By Linda Hensley - Published on Amazon.com

I was conflicted with this book. Enjoyed the story line and only finished the book to see how it ended. But could only give 2 stars because I got very tired of reading about the lead characters hormones. That did nothing to add to the story and made me want to delete the book from my device. That was the conflict finish the book because of the interesting story line or quit reading because of the boring hormones. I finished but will not read another book from this author
