Also check trigger warnings for this one (even though all the books in this series are DARK) - this one goes more in-depth on child sexual abuse and rape.
Damon was a difficult character to like in devil's night 1# but in 2# I have to say his story was unravelling and it made me so curious to know who the heck Winter was and how she was so important.
Damon is such a broken and twisted man and you'd expect such a different reaction from the events and truths of this story.
How does he unravel and come back together? Read the book. 5 stars because this whole series has just blown my mind and couldn't possibly get any better.
Beautiful writing, excellent characters and a plot that just keeps on revealing!
It's so nice to see the crew together and even better that they're all so heavily involved. I loved that even though their books are completed they still have so much to show and be revealed. Mystery and intrigue.
This was 100% my fav book of this series so far!
It was such an addictive read. I could not put it down! Kill Switch was a killer read. It was packed full of suspense and unexpected thrills.
In all honesty, I had no idea what I was in for when I started reading. The Devils Night series is one of this series that once you have read the first book, you don’t even bother reading the blurbs of the next books. You just read them! All I knew is that it was Damon’s and Winters story. Told in dual POV and a mix of past and present, we get to see the inner feelings and thoughts and find out exactly what happened between them all those years ago.
Damon is dark and absolutely delicious! He battles his inner demons on a daily basis and had a childhood that was absolutely heartbreaking.
Winter. Now her character was a huuuuuge surprise for me. I loved that she was not your usual heroine. She was such a strong character and was absolutely perfect for this story. Her and Damon together made my heart swell! And she brought out the softer side of Damon which I never thought we would see.
I would have loved to have given this book 5 stars but I had just one small issue with it!!! This may contain a few little spoilers so please stop reading now if you haven’t yet read it....
My issue is..... for most of the book, Damon and Winter are basically at each other’s throats. He hates her for sending him to jail. She hates him for lying to her and as she said “raping her” (well more so, not telling her who he was) but then it was like, all of a sudden, they were together. Yeah, he told her that it was all real, he spent two days building that fountain for her and she remembered what happened in the tree house but there was no sort of lead up or conversation, everything was forgotten and they were all over each other like nothing ever happened... I personally felt like that whole situation was missing something. I get that it is a long book and it can’t go on forever! But!!!! I reckon it was just kinda rushed to get the conflict resolved to move on to the next issue. I was a little disappointed with that part.
But besides that, it was an amazing book!! I couldn’t get enough of it. So many twists and turns! And just like the other books, it gets hot and heavy in parts! That group is basically like a box of hamsters... just climbing all over each other. Which all of the secrets that are being revealed, they really need to stop sleeping with each other because who knows who may be related to who anymore...
kill switch was full of surprises that had my jaw dropping on more than one occasion! It definitely contains some triggers which may be hard for some and let’s not forget that little bit of m/m action... ummm!!! I did not expect or see that coming!!!
Once again, Kill Switch was defs my favourite I’m this series so far! It has left me uber excited for Nightfall because I have a feeling that book is going to be even better!!!!

Kill switch is Book 3 in the devil’s night series. Corrupt and hideaway need to be read before hand or you will be lost.
What can I say about this book. It was outstanding. If you’ve read the other two books in the series you will know all about Damon Torrance and trust me I didn’t want to like him, I really didn’t. He’s done some messed up things but some how Penelope Douglas has made me fall deeply in love with Damon. He made me shout at my kindle, cry for him, want to hold him close and tell him everything will be ok. He made me roll my eyes, call him a names and smile so hard I didn’t know if I was coming or going.
Penelope’s writing was exquisite, her story telling pulling you into the moments and making you feel like you are a part of everything.
Winter, my sweet winter. She was everything. She fits in so well with the other girls and I love that she has a backbone, so strong!
I have been waiting and anticipating this book for a long time and I really didn’t believe that it could live up to the other two as I knew there was no way that Penelope Douglas could make me like Damon. How could she make me understand him and feel him. I was so wrong. She did and she did it so well I can feel him in my bones.
I thought i knew where this story was going to go...l I had no clue. I thought i could guess the twists.... I didn’t have any idea. I’m glad I read this book slowly and savoured it because I really enjoyed it. I took in all of the words and felt them, holding them close to me.
Michael used to be my favourite horsemen, Damon has taken over and massively surpassed him. This book will tear you limb from limb, get your pulse racing, bring tears to your eyes and consume you. I couldn’t have loved this book more if i had tried. Damon is the best kind of anti hero.
I couldn’t prepare myself for the emotions that this book put me through but I was worth every damn thing.
I can’t wait for Will’s book, I already know it’s going to be EPIC.
Well done Penelope Douglas, I bow down to you. Read the book, read the series and fall in love. You won’t regret a thing.
I was hesitantly excited about Kill Switch, Damon certainly hasn’t been my favourite Horseman, and I wasn’t expecting that to change.
Enter Winter, beautiful, intelligent, strong Winter. She was exactly what Damon needed to change the hard exterior.
Damon has been somewhat of an enigma, not entirely bad, but also not good, but always an anchor for those he loved. He kept them grounded and pulled them down, depending on his own mood.
I love that the Devil’s Night books have become a saga, as they are so delicately intertwined and so much bigger than one singular book, they are their own universe.
Damon’s story has been different to read, I wasn’t as excited to love him, and I didn’t think I would forgive him for his many transgressions, but I finally figured out what made him tick, and what started a shift in him.
As always Penelope managed to create a world where fear was an aphrodisiac, the good guys were bad and the bad boys were the endgame. The women stand strong behind their men, not to hide, but to cover their backs and the many cameos that we got were once again extraordinary.
Of course she also wrote scenes that were hotter than hot, incredibly taboo and pretty much guarantee to put you in the mood!
I’m blown away by the sheer amount of beauty that hid between the pages and can’t wait for the saga to continue!
Damon’s story is finally told and the hidden agenda is about to be played out...are you ready?
I thought I was! I couldn’t wait to curl up in the dark and read until the late hours because I knew Damon was going to leave me begging for more. I loved removing his mask and seeing the real man that Damon truly is.
There was also soo much more to Winter than meets the eye and I loved her character.
Shocks as each page unravels. Gut wrenching emotions. Twists that make you take a breather...would you expect anything else with Devils Night series?
