Packaging was badly damaged. 2 large holes in the box. See photo. Staples were torn out and the tape was peeling and caked with dirt. Does not give a good first impression.
The bike itself was not as described. The rims are plastic, not an aluminium alloy. And tires are foam, not rubber.
I'm surprised Amazon will allow a listing that is so misleading, and would send out an item with packaging in this state. I will return it.

I was a little surprised the tyres are kind of a solid foam feel rather than a traditional tyre so time will tell if they hold up but they seem to be fine. Some wrench assembly, about 10 minutes, and you toddler is off on a wobbly ride for the first day of so, but they catch on VERY fast. My son actually chases me across the yard and around the driveway with this bike, and I'm on a Yamaha TW-200 trail motorcycle! My son calls this his motorcycle, since it has the same color scheme as my Yamaha. This is far better than a tricycle. This bike teaches proper balance and control for a bicycle later on. Get your kiddo a $15.00 helmet and maybe some thin gloves, and even if they take a spill on pavement, they'll dust off their hands and get back on.

The seat height and handlebar height are adjustable. The seat should be adjust such that the child can touch the ground with his/her balls of the feet but not the heel, and not allow the feet to rest flat on the ground. Otherwise, the toddler will not balance and the ride will be wobbly with inconsistent balance. That may seem high at first, but the kids catch on fast and get more speed and better balance with this setting.

Construction is ultra-light but strong. The tires have good grip on pavement, and wood floors indoors (if you are a brave parent).

Well worth the price, which is much lower than the competitors. I was skeptical this would actually work to teach a child to ride a bike, but my husband wanted our son to try it. Our son could not balance at all without training wheels so we got this for his 5th birthday. He was not only balancing, but riding a regular bike without training wheels in less than 2 weeks. I highly recommend this balance bike for any child who struggles with balance or who wants to advance from training wheels to no training wheels.

This thing has been awesome for teaching our son to ride. We tried training wheels with our first son and we both hated them (our son and we the parents). Plus he never felt a sense of mastery since he was always wobbling with the training wheels. For our second son we tried this bike and we’re on a bit of a hill so he was able to build up speed, and never feel like he was missing out with the other, older kids in the neighborhood! He was 4 when we bought it and he caught onto it (using both legs to push off) in about 15min on flat, smooth area). Then, just this last weekend he learned to ride a bike & operate the pedal functionality in just 10minutes — with no falls, nor blood! And the balance bike is still in such great shape we’re passing it onto some friends’ little ones to learn!
