Kayden you made my heart weep for you, you're the type of man that any woman would be lucky to have in her life. You know that man that wants to be loved, and wants to love you back even more, yeah that's Kayden.
I knew I was hanging to read this book for a reason, and I wasn't disappointed in the least.
You're all going to love him, those of you that want to be loved by a good man

I loved this as much if not more than Untangle Me. What a brilliant story. This is Kaydens story of his past right up to the present. This is not a repeat of Untangle Me in Kaydens POV. It's totally different and totally brilliant.
If you want a really good book with a hot male then this is it:)

5.0 out of 5 stars Another hit! 3 July 2017

In the second book of Chelle Bliss’ Love At Last Series (you really need to read the first book in order to appreciate this one!), we get a more in-depth look at Kayden Michaels’ background.

Kayden has been battling addiction for so long, it’s second nature to him. Through love, hookups, and loss, Kayden is a broken soul. Until a trip to New Orleans changes everything.

Before we get into that though, we delve back into Kayden’s Past-first starting with his home life, then moving to the women that shaped him to be the man he is now. His home life is not one made of fairytales. His father is pretty strict on his son, causing Kayden to want to break the rules.

But soon, things go from bad to worse for Kayden—his parents decide to divorce, and his father becomes a lost cause, not caring about his son. Things with his mom improve slightly, but Kayden already has a chip on his shoulder that nothing can ease.

So, he turns to sex and drugs to get through his life. He first hooks up with his best friend’s sister, Mindy, who he leaves wanting more. Then, he met Bridget, and was serious for her for a time, even to the point of wanting to get married, but soon things failed. When Kayden finds Bridget cheating on him, he turns back to alcohol, and soon drugs, to numb the pain.

Fast forward a bit, and Kayden has a new beginning in New Orleans. It was time he got his life in order, which he did. By a twist of fate, Kayden comes across a girl who’s brother he was associated with. Turns out this girl is Sophia, who ends up being the love of Kayden’s life.
But then, Sophia became pregnant, and that caused Kayden to strive to be a better man.

He overcame his addiction to drugs and drinking, and with the help of Sophia’s love and devotion, he is bound to be the best man for her for always.

Another hit by this great author!

5.0 out of 5 stars I never thought I will love Kayden like I do now. 8 January 2014

Honestly, I hated Kayden in Untangle Me. I was like, "What the hell is up to this guy? Drunkard and has no future. Poor Sophia." Kayden: The Past slapped me in the face afterwards.

It was a very brilliant idea for an author to take us back from where Kayden came. I am telling you now, he's had a hell of a life. Loss, heartbreaks, betrayal, light and dark--- you're in for the ride. I was struggling with his story in Untangle Me but Kayden: The Past had made me understood most, if not all, of his difficulties.

He's got tons of the earth in his shoulders and his search for his peace wasn't an easy one. It took him a lot of failures in life to finally meet his light, Sophia. Hearing the book from his POV gave me wonderful sights of his sexy past, regretful betrayals and how he falls in and out of love.

Give Kayden a chance people. I never thought I would have after Untangle Me but I am so glad I decided against. Finishing his side of the story left me in tears and appreciate how life was easier for me.

Untangle Me and Kayden: The Past will give you what is real out there. Life isn't always a bed of roses. There are humps and bumps on our life's road. We just need to endure for the mean time until we find that one true partner who will go through with us in the ride.

Buy Kayden: The Past and you'll get a sneak peek of Love at Last #2, Suzy's story.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great story 3 July 2017

When I heard that that Kayden was the second book in the series I had to wonder why. Why was it not the first. Then moment you start reading the book you will see why. Is this a story about Kayden’s past? the answer is yes but it is so much more. This is basically a glimpse in his past. It helps give you an understanding of who Kayden was and why he took some of the paths he took.

This book is more like a confession and a healing process for Kayden. Healing is him getting counseling over his drinking and finding the root of the problem and a confession to his loving wife. I can only imagine what was going through Kayden’s mind when he was going through ever gory detail.

We get to see the friends he ran around with when he was a child. We get to see the home life he was raised in and how much his father hated him. We also get to see all the women he went though.

I think about his first love. The one that broke his heart by cheating on him. We get to hear about the woman he had married and the pain he went through concerning her. We get to read about his most painful loss. We also get to read about the crazy woman he dated. Yeah, that one was a little scary.

Each thing Kayden goes though breaks him more and more and as you are reading every thing he goes through you will understand. He was spiraling out of control and he was headed into darkness. It was Sophia that gave him hope. He needed someone that was not willing to give up on him and she was that person. I have to say my favorite part in the book was when this major thing happen in his life and he was whole again.

I loved this story and glad I got a chance to read the book.

Ok so when Chelle Bliss originally released Kayden the past I fell in love with him even more than in Untangle Me. I was worried that when she said that she was re-writing his story I was worried she would change the story and take out parts of Kayden I fell in love with but I was so wrong. I fell even more in love with his story. It's raw and gritty and it shows his true emotions. It's also hard sometimes to read a story about a character in the past and still feel connected to the characters they way you fall in love with them in the present. Chelle Bliss does this she actually makes you fall in love with Kayden more I think. It was amazing at how well she brought it out and to the light and nailed all the feelers involved in such a story like this. Kayden's past is rough and sometimes hard to swallow! It makes you want to cry at times and scream no what the *** are you doing. It makes you want to just reach in to the book and hold Kayden and tell him everything will be okay just hold on! The letter at the end makes you want to cry happy tears and smile that yes everything is ok! This book gives you a rollercoaster of emotion! It gives you a true insight of what one person can go through when dealing with an addiction and how it does effect everything and everyone around you! This book is an amazing journey through life and the ups and downs life can offer some. The key to this is how strong you are & how much 1 person can change if they truly want too!

First I need to say I have not read Untangle Me yet, so the life story Kayden is telling himself in Kayden: The Past is the only thing I know about him.

He had a life full of alcohol, sex and crazy and mad girlfriends.

I got hooked from the very beginning and was sad to learn about all the loss, addiction and bad things Kayden had to experience before he got to meet Sophia - his true soul mate.

The story is written as a journal at the suggestion of his Counselor, and I loved every sentence of it! I loved how Kayden explained some of his actions in more detail written italics.

These explanations kept me from getting angry at him and his partially dumba** behavior a lot.

Yet my heart broke for Kayden, he didn't have it easy the whole time. It's really a rough story to read!

This book also contains the first chapter of Untangle Me - Kayden's and Sophia's story - and let me tell you, I am dying to read their coming together - to see Kayden eventually getting the happy ending he deserved!

There is a glimpse into his life with Sophia within the last pages of this book and I felt my heart jump and a tear of joy in my eyes because I simply was so, so happy for Kayden!

Seeing what she does to Kayden I fell in love with Sophia instantly.

>>> I can't describe every way she's different than any woman I've come in to contact with, but she is. She's my soul mate who I had to walk through hell to find.
Sophia's my kismet, the one worth everything I went through to be with in the end. <<<

But with Kayden telling how much she means to him I'll sure as hell love her as well after reading Untangle Me.

Chelle Bliss is such a talented writer and brings her characters to live with great care, making them believable and real all along.

This is a must read for everyone who loves a sexy, steamy and heartwrechning read! I LOVED this book!! (especially the last few chapters)
