Lachlan Ness is a minister of the Presbyterian Church of Australia, and lives in retirement on the shores of beautiful Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia, with his wife Janet and their two "children," Jock the border collie and Tonkie the Tonkinese cat. Lachlan has served in parishes in New South Wales and Queensland, Scotland, Shetland, and as an Australian Regular Army chaplain.

Ah, this tale, especially the first chapter had me in tears of laughter, and I can equate to all Lachlan's meetings with the 'local's' and yes his parish is in some of the most beautiful regions of Australia, It brought back many memories of life in the '60's - Definitley loved this book.

A Lovely Walk Through Time
20 May 2015 - Published on Amazon.com
This book took me on a journey that really made me see the beauty of a by gone Australia of old. The author - a minister with the gift of moving readers with his words - shares his memories in this simply written yet evocative memoir of his beloved Australia and the incredible people who live in this harsh, unforgiving, yet gorgeous land. Mr. Ness describes these Australians with wit and an infectious sense of humor - under his pen they come to vivid life, so much so that I feel as if I knew them all my life. This is a beautifully written book, one that took me back in time to a simpler, fuller life, and it is a book that I recommend to anyone who enjoys stories about real people and their trials, tribulations and above all their joys and zest for life. I can't wait to read more of his stories.
