After 12 years my old kambrook toaster only failed because the timing device stopped,. The vintage Kambrook 4 slice did what a toaster should do, even toast and time consistently. I wish I had something better to say but this new model is really bad. The toasting is inconsistent not only on which side but also different parts of the same side. I am only giving this review because I jumped on to return it after weeks of pondering about trying online returns which I don't do and discovered that I am past the return time, I can't save my own experience but can maybe save yours.
