I love when Ms Teshco brings me another naughty little story to read. This is the lead-in novella to her new Sci-fi/Paranormal ‘Dragons of Riddick’ series.

Orphaned at an early age, Grace swore she’d make whoever killed her parents pay. Or should that be ‘what’ ever, because even then, Grace could sense those who were different from humankind. That ability found a home with the PDA - Paranormal Detection Agency, its members utilising Grace’s abilities while giving her the means and skills to someday fulfil her vow. But this talk of dragons is too far-fetched. They don’t exist, and if they did, surely, they would have triggered her senses. Then she closes in on the PDA’s person of interest and discovers that not only do dragons exist, her genetic code could save their entire race.

Kadin has been watching and waiting for the opportunity to meet Grace, but he never expected their intense reaction to each other. She’s the answer he’s been scouring the Universe to find, and now that he has her, he’s not letting her go. Being an alien might complicate matters, but nowhere near as complicated as the revelation that Grace is his fated mate, and the PDA, once her saviours, are now their enemy, for a mated pair of dragons is a sort-after commodity indeed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sexy raunchy dragon shifter 23 April 2017
By Deanna's World - Published on

I was so excited about this book I read it the moment I saw it land on my Kindle because ya know ... dragon shifter! It's like my version of romance novel catnip.

Mel Teshco has created a fascinating world where paranormal creatures are hunted and dragons are from an alien planet. Ms Teshco has also done an amazing job of some excellent world building in a very short novella to set the scene for the Dragons of Riddich.

Of course, I was predisposed to love Kadin since well, ya know .. dragon shifter. He's everything a sexy dragon shifter should be and then some! I loved all the special abilities that Ms Teshco gave him. Made things super fun.

Grace took me by surprise since she was originally sent to assassinate (I think? it was not clear) Kadin but ends up falling for him instead (of course!). There's the whole dragon mating thing going on to explain the insta-lust which works just fine for me. Her back story was also very interesting and I found myself wondering right through the book who she was, what her motivations were and why they were being hunted. The big reveal is eye opening, to say the least.

I almost forgot to mention ... this book is raunchy. Ms Teshco knows how to put a lot of sexy, steamy into less than a hundred pages! And Kadin, well, he does the kind of sex I like to read about. Phew! Did it get hot in here?

This is a great start to the series and I can't wait for the next book because ya know ... dragon shifter. Do you think I've mentioned "dragon shifter" enough for you to know I love them? :-)

Write fast, Ms Teshco.

4.0 out of 5 stars Satisfying overall 7 April 2017

Grace is an agent with the Paranormal Detection Agency, assigned to scope out Kadin (who everyone knows is a dragon except Grace). There's instant love, sex, and they run away together.

I wanted a little bit more from Grace. I had a hard time believing she would run away with a guy she met an hour ago just because he said her friends had betrayed her. I did enjoy how realistic Kadin was as a shifter. Mel Teshco wrote the transformation really well, and it was much more believable than other shifters. It's incredibly painful for him to shift and requires time and energy before he can shift again.

I could have used a little bit more to the story, but as a romance novella, I wasn't expecting too much. The sex scenes were well written, even if the dialogue was a little clumsy. It could be fleshed out a little, but overall it's a solid shifter romance novella.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was okay. 10 February 2017

Love the cover and the writing is pretty good, however I feel like the story was rushed and fell short. I know this is a short story, but I feel that if it had been expanded, it would have made for a really good book. The villain was cliche in that 'Ha ha! These are my plans" and then turns around begging mercy when the gun is turned his way. I had an eye rolling moment there. As for Grace, she is built up to be this amazing agent, but forgets everything she learned and makes so many mistakes. I would have liked to see her in action. Due to it's short length, we were not able to see a relationship evolve between Kadin and Grace, so it turned into insta-love. If you enjoy that direction with lots of sexy times, you'll love this. Overall, this was an okay, quick read.

Enjoyable novella. I wish the author had a lengthier story to introduce this series. First time to read from this author. Planning to read more stories from her.
1.0 out of 5 stars Ugh 13 May 2017

No depth whatsoever. Novella or not this story literally jumped over natural progression that all well written stories require. What author has a strong heroin except and embrace the term "breeder?" Ugh.
