Well what a way to end a series, making me ugly cry. This book is absolutely my favourite in the series even with the ugly crying. I love friends to lovers stories and this one is so well written and the characters are ones you just cant help but cheer for and love. Cameron has lost his husband to cancer and has been left alone with two sons. Kades lost his wife because shes a skanky ho and is left with two boys. These two are friends who are there for each other in their times of need and this makes their bond stronger. The four boys get along amazingly. Such an amazing story. Well done A.D Ellis

"I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book" I try not to give a storyline away when I review a book. The blurb doesn't do justice for this book though.
This is an emotional roller coaster. I think I had tears running down my face in the first chapter. Kade and Cameron are very well developed characters and their story is well crafted. There is a lot to overcome for both Kade and Cameron, do yourself a favor and give this a go.

4.0 out of 5 stars Friends to lovers story 16 June 2017
By Jodi Marinich - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
AD has made this series a must read for me from the beginning. All her characters are flawed or going through a tuff time and find a way to happiness.
We start this story reading how Cameron is losing his husband to cancer. It is heartbreaking to read how they say good bye. Deacon makes Cam promise to love again and make sure their 2 boys are happy.
Cam doesn't know how he will go on without the love of his life with him but he knows he has to find a way for their children.
Kade is married with 2 boys of his own, when one if his best friends passes away. Kade finds himself being there for Cam when he needs him after Deacons death.
Kade, his wife, Cameron and Deacon were all friends as well their boys. So it was a no brainer for Kade to help out when he was needed.
Kade and his wife are having problems but Kade feels they can work through them. She is never around and always at work or out with friends. Kade finds out she is having an affair and confronts her. She admits to it and say she doesn't want to be a mom or wife anymore so she leaves. Kade is devastated and goes to Cam's to see his son's. He tell Cam what happened and Cam gets to be there for Kade now as well.
Cameron and Kade get into a routine with the kids. Cam isn't lonely when Kade is there and Kade doesn't have to think about his marriage falling apart.
Cameron tells Kade that he should move in so they can help each other. Kade agrees and the boys are all for it.
Kade realizes he is having feelings for Cameron and admits he is bi-sexual. Cameron is also having feelings for Kade but doesn't think he is ready to move on. The sexual tension between them is sizzling until they do something about it.
Kade has an idea which I wont tell you about but after the fiasco they start to get closer. I love that they are best friends, parents and lovers. Kade has to deal with his x-wife but Cameron is there through it all and they grow stronger. AD wrote the drama so well that you sometimes just want them to move on with the relationship. The only thing I wasn't sure about was the way they said "I love you" so fast once they got together.
Their boys are great and that they all get along as best friends makes it so cute to read.
I am hoping there is a book 7 and I can't wait to read it. Reviewed for Alpha Book Club.

5.0 out of 5 stars Friends-to-lovers - a great story! 16 June 2017

Kade & Cameron is the 6th book in the Something About Him series but it's a standalone story. The books are connected by theme, not location or characters. All of the stories are great and I highly recommend them.

The blurb pretty much tells you everything you need to know about this book except how it made me feel. The story summoned all kinds of emotion in me: sadness and tears for the loss that Cameron suffers when his husband dies; anger for what Kade's wife does; laughter when the two men and four boys are having fun together and many other feelings, too.

Every one of the books in this series has been a five-star read for me. Ms. Ellis's writing has the ability to make me feel what her characters are feeling and put me right in the middle of the story. Once I started this book I didn't want to put it down.

Kade and Cameron suffer greatly due to the things Kade's wife does but they do get an HEA. I especially appreciated the epilogue which gave us another glimpse of the family's life together a few years down the road.

I don't know if additional books are planned in this series or not but I really hope that more are coming.

5.0 out of 5 stars One sitting read. 16 June 2017

I received an advanced copy of this book. A D Ellis you don't write fair. I went through a dozen tissues reading the first chapter alone, This book grabbed me and pulled me in from page 1. I cried, I got angry, I laughed, and cried some more. The full gambit of emotions in one wonderful book. I don't go into storylines in my reviews, that is what the blurb is for, but you poured your heart into this one. If I were to go through this book and highlight what touched me or moved me there would be more highlight than not. I purchased this book as I want it to read and reread and reread.

5.0 out of 5 stars So good. 16 June 2017

From the very first page I was captured by the author's gift of immersing the reader into the hearts and minds of her characters.
The story is well thought out. Kade and Cameron are easily understood and lovable. The secondary characters are supportive to the plot and the children are precious and integral to the work without overwhelming the main storyline.
A strong passion builds after the worst of the grief and dismay have eased and culminates in some very spicy intimacies.
The environment is well drawn and the antagonist is a nasty piece of work that I was glad to see the last of.
The range of emotions that the author put me thru was exhausting but oh so enjoyable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!!! 17 June 2017

This one here hit all the feels the most. Up until it got dire I didn't want the book to end. Kade and Cameron are a perfect example of why I love friends to lovers. If this had been to guys meeting after their painful losses you wouldn't of had half the emotional journey. Add to that you've got Declan, Myles, Justin, and Evan. I'd love to find out how those four grew up. What do they think of what went on with Stephanie? As teens and adults, how have the felt and handled Kade and Cameron's relationship? As you can tell, A.D. Ellis pulled me in deep with this one. She does a great job of writing relatable characters with realistic issues. I can't wait to see where she goes next.
