Justin & ShellyReviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 May 2018
I must say I really enjoyed this book, much more than the previous one. We first hear about this couple in Calhoun ( previous book ) and I was so looking forward to read more. It was so obvious that they still loved each other. Justin and Shelly were engaged 6 years ago she broke it off. She came from money with a privileged background while the H was just a poor cowboy with dreams and ambition. Fast forward 6 years and Shelly has lost it all, money, the family ranch due to her father's dept. She is basically destitute and needs help while Justin has become a millionaire. His distrust and jealousy will destroy e everything he holds dear. Or will it? Really good read. Highly recommended

Diana Palmer is a newly discovered writer for me and I can honestly say there are very few books of hers that I have not enjoyed! The Long Tall Texan series is just splendid and the kind of escapism I need on a cold night by the fire.

Shelby and Justin, love, distrust, misunderstandingReviewed in the United States on 17 March 2014
All who read this author's books love her work and want to read more and I am no exception. What I can't answer is "why"? There is much better writing out there and I feel disloyal saying that, but from book to book the same trite phrases appear and the characters don't really change. The men wear silk suits and drive Jaguars, the women are all barely 21 and not really pretty but He finds her fascinating just the same and that damn, curly pelt he has for chest her, what is it with the author's fascination with "thick, curly" chest hair? But this is Justin's story the older of the two Ballenger brothers and Shelby's story, a story of hidden love miscommunication, anger, hurt and misunderstanding, will they ever confess their love and settle down? Read the story and you'll find out and yes, like everyone else I loved it too, but as you can see there is a sameness to all the characters that I would love to see change from book to book.

A Keeper - I read every so often.Reviewed in the United States on 11 July 2015
One of Ms Palmer's older books, also one of my keepers. It follows the format of nice lady, not so nice man. There is a lot of history between these two; they both have always cared for the other, but life happened to keep them apart.
