Readers who like mystery with a hint of romantic suspense will love the lively female voice and powerful sense of place in this ebook trilogy from British author Charles Beddingfield.

In this bundle:-

An intriguing mystery... a challenging romance... a very different detective. Life can be fraught with danger, and sometimes it comes from a place you least expect. When a long retired detective becomes obsessed with solving a long-cold case the fallout could be disastrous for everyone.

BOOK1: Sophie Sews for You
"It wasn't my fault! He was baiting me..."

Ever wanted to kick your boss where it really hurts? When a long retired detective points the finger of suspicion in a case of two missing women, rookie detective Kate Harris is landed with the donkey work. She must unlock the secrets of the victim's diary to identify a suspect, and find the strength to defy her irascible boss to get to the truth. They have a man in custody, but is he the right man? Has there even been any crime to investigate?

BOOK 2: Sally Does Hair
"Good God, Angela! What do you take me for? I wouldn't do anything with him if he was the last man on earth!"

Things had been going smoothly for hairdresser Sally Paxton until her creepy new boss came on the scene. Now, Sally's friend Louise has re-ignited an impulse to put right a disastrous mistake that has overshadowed Sally's life since she was fourteen. Her half-brother's estranged father is at the heart of that mistake. His idyllic riverside village life in England's tranquil Norfolk Broads seems an attractive escape from creepy Crowley. But a long retired detective hunting the killer of two missing women is digging the dirt on John, uncovering things Sally would prefer kept private. Will Louise's advice prove as disastrous as it did once before?

BOOK 3: Lucky, lucky Me!
"You'll never guess! I'm getting married..."

"We've got one here that's right up your street, Enoch. Young woman. Disappeared about twelve years ago..." In spite of warnings Sally Paxton is determined to follow her heart even when her loyalties are torn between her intended and his best friend. But as Sally prepares for the big day in a picture-postcard Norfolk village where romantic sunsets come blood-red and gold, she faces a nightmare discovery when a retired detective, obsessed with solving an old case, finally closes in on his quarry. Can innocence be conceded, or should the guilty be nailed?

Lucky, lucky Me! brings the Just One Mistake trilogy full circle in a dramatic finale packed with suspense.

This book could have been shorter and still told the same story. I enjoyed the story but thought that the details of Sally and John's romance along with the romance between John and Sally's mother should have been explained in detail as it left you hanging. If there had been less description of every detail, I would have enjoyed the story more. I put this book down several times from boredom but I always finish a book and some parts of the book were worth reading but still confusing. I would rather have not chosen the end although one ending was quite good. Just found myself a little disappointed with the book over all. Too many questions unanswered.

This is a lovely easy read and I was drawn very quickly into the story. The characters seemed very real and were easy to get to know as the story flowed along with warmth and humour. The description of the Norfolk Broads was delightful and brought back happy memories of childhood boating holidays. I would certainly recommend this book if you like a relaxing read with a twist at the end.
