Johnny Tee is in a bad spot. He has fallen to a new low. He has been reduced to the level of a “hobo.” Yet one way or another, he must rescue the mother of a beautiful young blond he has just met, who has been kidnapped by gangsters.
How does he do it? By following the Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) 12 Step Guide, of course.
Somehow this all makes perfect sense in the madcap mind of Johnny Tee. The result is a roller coaster ride of hilarious antics.
Although truly an original concept, if I could compare this book to another of my other favorite series it would be the “My Man Jeeves” stories by P.G. Wodehouse. Both authors utilize laugh-out-loud, off the wall humor and preposterously hilarious situations.
Overall, an exhilarating book that is impossible to put down.
The first book in the series introduces us to Johnny Tee, a wandering vagabond with a troubled past and an even bleaker future. A fighter, gambler, and liar Johnny Tee has lived a life that has been one misstep after another. He makes a decision to go the straight and narrow that is going to be harder than he thinks due to the fact that he is a complete idiot. Navigating the city's dirty underbelly should be no problem for a guy who is a magnet for trouble, and he's going to need the help of some unwilling friends and the power of unrequited love to save the day.
