HE IS THIS STORIES LEAST LIKELY ROMEO.

No more Mister “Playing it Safe.”

Lilly Howard is tired of being taken for granted. After breaking up with her philandering boyfriend, she’s giving up guys and learning to love herself again.

The main characters in this story are Lilly and Roman. If you read Jock Royal, then you'll know that Lilly is Eliza's former roommate and best friend. Lilly is the pretty cheerleader who decides to go on a dating hiatus after she finds out her boyfriend cheated on her. She meets Roman, who happens to be Jack and Eliza's new roommate and is intrigued as he is smart and unlike the guys she is used to. She soon realizes that she met him at a party freshman year and the more time she spends with him, the more she begins to fall for him.
Roman is back in college after spending time abroad on a scholarship. He is a bit of a nerd as he likes physics and is doing his major in tech. Moving out of his parents house and in with two strangers, Roman is stunned when he sees Lilly again. He likes her free spirit and fun personality but a girl like her would never go for a guy like him. Or would she?
I absolutely enjoyed reading this story. I loved the dynamic between the two characters and how good they were for one another. In usual Sara Ney style, this story was light on drama and the banter and storyline was fun and flirty.
What I loved about this book is how Roman and Lilly were both so different personality-wise but had a few similarities that really made the two of them perfect for each other. This made it easier for the lines of communication to be open between Roman and Lilly whenever drama arose, and subsequently, their character growth was more evident.
In addition to the development of Rome and Lilly's relationship, we also got to revisit one of my favourite couples (from Jock Reign, book 5). Jack and Eliza are still as fantastic as ever so I'm really glad we got to see more of their relationship from an outside perspective.
Infused within this fun story is Ney's signature humour. Sassy quips, sarcasm, and wild behaviour are to expected in every Ney book and once again, she doesn't disappoint! I laughed out loud many times and often had to remake my cup of tea because I was so distracted by the story that my tea went cold before I remembered it.
Overall, Jock Romeo is another fun, lighthearted new adult rom-com with a very light focus on sports (heroine is a cheerleader and MCs originally meet on Jock Row). I highly recommend this book and series to anyone who wants a funny, easy going college-based romance.
Roman and Lilly are two complete opposites, but you know that old saying about how they attract? Well it ends up being so very true with this couple. Sara Ney absolutely slays the slow burn. I used to practically hate when a romance was written this way, but whenever Sara’s characters take their sweet time getting to the good stuff I am almost giddy in anticipation.
There are quite a few laugh out loud moments throughout the story but most are centered around Aunt Myrtle. She is an absolute hoot that almost stole the show every time she was in the storyline.
I cannot get enough of this series and as I said before I really do hope it won’t be the last. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Lily is an outgoing, vivacious, sweet, and fun cheerleader, who loves nothing more than to craft.
Ran is shy, studious, sweet, sexy, driven and dedicated, and has a great aunt who is sure to leave you laughing out loud.
I really enjoyed this pair, probably because I could see elements of myself in both characters.
Much like many of Sara Ney’s other books this one is packed full of humour, but is also quite sweet and steamy and left me with a smile upon my face.

Great characters and a riveting story from the start.
Aunt Myrtle for the win!! I love her and her relationship with Roman was everything!!
Rome and Lily.. they let for the first time at a party…she’s the cheerleader , he’s the guy who is there be une was made to. Rome spent his time studying and had clear plans for his future. Lily , she’s the popular girl who seems to have it all but once you scratch the surface you realise it’s quite the opposite- she loves art , her mum wants her to be a cheerleader.
The first conversation between the two characters was so honest and raw and got me hooked!!
The bracelet … he kept the bracelet and I swooned!!
3 years later they meet again… the geeky Roman has changed- he’s back from Europe and he’s moved out from the family home.
When they meet again you can feel the tension and attraction between them but will they yield to temptation? Will they cross the friendship line that they have set?
Another great story from Sara Ney full of laughters, emotions and love.
They’re so adorably awkward together as they become friends and learn to be there for each other. It’s a slow burn as they can’t believe the other person would actually be attracted to them.
This is a low angst, college sweetheart of a read and very enjoyable!
