Product Description

It’s the most horrible time of the year.
Smooches under mistletoes and tacky reindeer decorations.
Newly single, Davey has had enough of wasting his love and having his heart broken. Better to be single, he decides. No more dates. No more falling in love. No more dreaming of happy ever afters. Those are for movies.
He’s resolute.
And then Avery steps into his life, bringing care, compassion, and tenderness in his path.
Davey’s so tempted to hope again. But can an online date and a brief encounter turn into anything other than an ephemeral sexual encounter?
Is there a future for them? Will Avery stay? And most importantly, can Davey bear to offer up his heart to the season’s love—just one more time?
A sweet romance by Chris Ethan, author of The Guy With The Suitcase.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Nice Holiday Short Story 8 December 2016
By A T - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Jingle Spell is a short read that’s perfect to fit into your holiday reading schedule. For a novella, the characters are surprisingly well-developed. The dialogue moves the story along quickly, but gives all the details and chemistry you need to feel satisfied with this romance. The start was a little sullen but it set the stage for the changes within one of the main characters, so looking back, I like the approach. Considering the depth and emotion Chris Ethan managed to squeeze into a short story, I’m definitely interested in reading more from this author. I appreciated that this was a departure from your typical holiday, overly cheery book, but managed to still spark that Christmastime magic in the air.
5.0 out of 5 stars A very sweet Christmas story 15 December 2016
By Aimee Brissay - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
A very sweet Christmas story. The chemistry between Davey and Avery is clear from the beginning, and I rooted for them the entire time. Davey has a bad relationship track record and nearly swears off men. Until he meets Avery. Freshly moved into town, Avery brings out the best in Davey and gives him back the hope in a lasting relationship. The story is written from Davey's point of view, but Avery's input, especially at certain times, would have made the book even more engrossing.
All through it, I had the feeling that the writing is very personal to the author, like he was putting on paper his own story.
4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely Holiday Story 12 December 2016
By DiverseReader - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Unexpected meetings turning into love are always perfect holiday reads. It's love wrapped in a Christmas bow!

Davey is a newly single guy. He doesn't seem to have the best luck in love and he's not a fan of his job. Avery is brand new to town. He visits Davey's shop earlier in the day and when they come "screen face to screen face" with each other on a dating site; you can't help but wonder if it's Christmas magic.

The book evolves from sad and lonely to sweet, happy, and lovely. Novellas are tricky because sometimes you feel like maybe you didn't have enough time to really feel and absorb characters and situations. In Jingle Spell, the author really fleshed out the characters well, the pacing was great, and dialog was wonderful.

This is what you look for in a holiday story.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just Not Ready 23 December 2016
By Xanlthorpe - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
The book desperately needs an editor. The prose was awkward and unconventional but I was trying to make it work. Then I read this "If Davey thought Avery was beautiful before, he was melting of swoon now" and I realized there was just no point in trying to finish. I have no problem with unconventional topics, harsh language or roughly drawn characters, but this book is not worth the time. Not as it is in this version.
