In this volume:
Mything in Action, vol. III (chapters 19 – 25)
presents a bold thought experiment:
“The Gospel According to H.G. Wells,”
a multi-chapter time travel expedition
through the origins and evolution of Christianity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Long Awaited and Worth it, Volume III 29 April 2017

Most of the material in this book summarizes more scholarly studies by other Jesus Mythicists, but David Fitzgerald presents it in a different way so that it is easier to read, and more fun. His evidence is overwhelming, and the logic is compelling. Volume III is a fresh new approach because it adds some very perceptive insights by showing the development of Christianity in the context of other historical events. I waited a long time for Mything in Action, and the book was worth it.
5.0 out of 5 stars An instant classic, Volume III tops of this excellent series of essential reading 22 May 2017

The most entertaining volume of the series, demonstrates how no real Jesus was needed to twist, shape and form a group of cults each with their own fictional belief system into what eventually would become known as Christianity, a cobbled together man made, heavily edited collection of insane dogma and illogical nonsense. Shows how the New Testament is just a fictional sequel to the fictional Old Testament in which alleged prophecies are miraculously "fulfilled" by one of fiction's most memorable characters, an imaginary fellow named Jesus.
5.0 out of 5 stars The time travel frame is fun and not detrimental to the subject matter 4 May 2017

As a fan of the works of Robert Price and Richard Carrier, I was surprised that Fitzgerald had anything to add to the mythicism discussion. Even if he hadn't, the presentation is so readable and enjoyable that the book and the whole set are well worth reading.

Fascinating in-depth dive into biblical history as it relates to Jesus and the mythicist/historical conversation. Well researched and referenced but a very interesting read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting and fun romp through time! 3 April 2017
By Richard Johnson - Published on Amazon.com

This final book of the series takes a different approach by using a time travel theme in order to take the reader on an interesting travel through time, from the beginnings of Christian thinking, through all of the intermediate steps, to the final Christianity which we know today. It seems a little strained at times, but the level of detail is interesting and makes the topic come to life. Definitely s good ending to an informative series!
