Product description

Style Name:Potato Ricer

Most potato ricers require strong hands to operate and their vertical squeezing action can often be awkward to use. With the Helix potato ricer, however, the squeezing force is applied horizontally, which is much more comfortable and utilises the power of the shoulders as well. In addition, its unique, twisting mechanism multiplies the force used, which means you get more squeezing power from less effort. The tough, 2-piece design is made from stainless steel and nylon and can be separated for easy cleaning. The Helix range also includes a garlic press and citrus juicer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chef quality mash!
By KB1846 on 28 August 2019
The Helix potato ricer turns out restaurant standard mashed spuds with simplicity and ease. No more plates of glugulated mash. And it cleans with a flush under a tap. A hint on the cooking: slow simmer the spuds 20 minutes or so, drain, return to very low heat to let remaining moisture evaporate, then put them through the ricer and gently fold in a mix of softened butter, little milk and salt.

Having had this press for 13 months the plastic runner which is part of the Helix action is wearing away - I raised this with Joseph and Joseph who will not do anything as their 2 year warranty only applies for purchases made direct with them.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best garlic press I've used.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 June 2020
What a difference twisting mates compared to the traditional garlic press. The barrel holds a nice amount too. Can get around 5 cloves in at once.

However like all garlic presses I've used it does leave a 'husk' in afterwards. I wouldn't listen to those who say everything is removed - I peel the garlic before crushing. But it's a doddle to remove afterwards. Takes a sec literally.
