Dr Rowena Mobbs (née Newcombe) is a neurologist specialising in dementia services within Sydney. She has over fifteen years experience in caring for patients going through the earliest and often highly challenging stages of cognitive impairment, and is the lead doctor at an integrated-care neurology practice involving other specialists, allied health services and carer supports, practising at Macquarie University Hospital.

Rowena is a previous Australian representative in fencing and modern pentathlon with a love of all sports. Working as Clinical Director for the Australian Sports Brain Bank, Rowena holds a particular interest in concussion and chronic traumatic encephalopathy.

Rowena delivers an empathic and detailed quality to her practice, as well as a direct experience with dementia within her family, and continues to advocate strongly for improved dementia services and research within the community.

Dementia is on all of our door steps. Through her book, “It’s not dementia! and what to do when it is” Dr Mobbs embraces the possibility that we may embrace a life living with dementia.
