About the author

Danny is a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with over 30 years of clinical experience. He has dedicated his professional life to helping his patients regain and maintain optimal health and quality of life. Danny is passionate about the benefits of TCM and enjoys teaching others the principles and mechanisms behind Chinese medicine. He has taught at several Australian Universities and private colleges and is the clinic director of Kurrajong Natural Medicine Centre.
Danny and his wife Susan, a medical herbalist and yoga teacher, have a shared interest in helping people and have published several books together. Their aim is to reach the wider community beyond their patient base to help as many people as possible to gain better health, happiness and peace of mind in their lives.

What it is: upfront and honest. What it isn't: Pretentious. There are two people talking here, two people who have had decades of experience in promoting well-being and inner health. They know stuff. A lot of stuff, and they have managed to fit it in to this neat little introductory package brilliantly. When you read this book, you hear two honest people talking to you, not gimmicks and false promises. This is a book to start you on the journey to the most important thing in your life, your inner health and well-being. That is the key. I have learnt from this book and from the authors themselves that once you have these, your other health concerns will all but disappear. But remember, this is not a quick fix. It will take time, but that is a good thing because the authors are there to guide you through it.
The best bit about reading this book was that I could hear the authors as I read it. The anecdotes are as familiar to me as they are important. They are important to the teachings in this book and they are the product of years of experience. My favourite is the anecdote at the beginning of chapter four, as this is exactly me. I am prone to anger, my blood pressure is high... But I will take heed of the suggestion on how to deal with a situation and change my behaviour. I know it's going to take time, the authors know it is going to take time, but the big help here is that it is okay that it will take time. I have found this book one of the easiest to follow and understand and learn from in years. It is worth the read if you are struggling and it is worth the read even if you are happy. The valuable life teachings provided in these pages will stay with you for a long time.
So, take a deep breath and dive in. I think you'll find this well worth all the effort.
