Product Description

On the "island of roses and ruins" - Gotland in the Baltic Sea - a shy librarian and a dashing FBI agent must work together to catch a killer and recover a priceless silver treasure in this sweetly romantic suspense novel from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jenna Bennett.

When Annika Holst's father dies, it's up to the young librarian to carry out his last will: to take his ashes back to his hometown, medieval Visby on the Swedish island of Gotland.

But no sooner does the plane touch down in Stockholm, than the bag with the cremains goes missing. A young American named Nick Costa comes to Annika's aid... but can she trust the handsome stranger? And what of Curt Gardiner, another young man from “back home,” also visiting his mother’s native Sweden?

To catch a murderer, recover her father’s ashes, and find a missing Viking treasure, Annika has to put her trust in one of them. But the wrong choice could mean not only the loss of her heart... but of her life as well.

There is a lovely warm feeling you get when you find an unread book of a favourite author. That's what this book provided! And it didn't disappoint. The characters, story and dialogue were fresh and entertaining. The island town described jumped to number one for holiday destinations. Now to find out if it's real! Hard to believe it was all fiction.

5.0 out of 5 stars Glad I found this book! 25 March 2017

I knew Jenna Bennett was a great storyteller from her Savanah & Rafe series, which I couldn't read fast enough. This is another great story with people you'd love to know, like Annika & Nick. They come alive because of descriptions that pull you in & a story I couldn't put down. A librarian satisfied with a quiet, boring life & an FB I agent who discovers her depth & beauty - interesting from the first paragraph!

this author amazes me with whatever genre she tries. This book proved to be what I would expect from her. It's storyline is so very real when you picture the surroundings and the way she does her background work. The girl is innocent and a librarian that is doing what her father requested. Take his ashes to where he was born. She could never imagine the intrigue such a request held. She definitely had to come out of that librarian shell and get a taste of the real life because she was followed by one strange event after the other each place she had to stop. Of course it involved her meeting a guy but not one but two. Was one of them a bad guy or was she just intrigued with both. the suspense mounts and as usual the author knows how to keep you from figuring out the true suspect until the very end. GOOD READING!!! HATS OFF TO THE AUTHOR AGAIN!!!

When Annika Holst decides to follow her deceased father's wishes--to be buried in his homeland of Sweden--she doesn't expect to be on a romantic/murderous adventure. Who would steal her backpack with her father's ashes, search her room twice & kill a man -- all while she's only trying to follow her father's wishes. Add 2 men that she just met -- and try to figure out which is really the good guy and what the other one wants. Will she recover the ashes and complete her task without getting herself killed in the process?

This was one I truly enjoyed from start to finish and highly recommend. Jenna Bennett really knows how to write a good story and keep you interested throughout the entire book.

Just not what I expected. I really wanted MORE of the art crime portion. Ms. Bennett is an excellent writer ( Read her "Savannah Martin" series) and I just couldn't get involved with the characters.

If you are looking for a new author to read pick up anything by Jenna Bennett. Her storytelling and scene setting abilities are beyond compare. She knows how to draw you into the story and makes you invested in the characters. The main female character in this story is not one I usually like to read (shy, inexperienced, almost mousy in the beginning); however, Ms. Bennett has a way of writing that makes you enjoy reading a story that you normally wouldn't.
