New York Times/USA Today bestselling author, Deanna Chase, brings you book two in the Crescent City Fae series.
Finding the perfect dress can be hell… especially when a stranger tries to gun you down in broad daylight.
Void agent and magical baker extraordinaire, Willow Rhoswen has been anticipating her first date with Talisen Kavanagh since she was sixteen. After eight years of waiting, there are only two things that can stand in her way—an assassination attempt and a new game-changing drug.
Talisen’s invented a new elixir that creates superhumans, ones that can rival vampire strength, and everyone wants it. Including the vampires. With Willow’s life on the line, he makes a deal with the devil, while she’s forced to accept the always-strings-attached protection from the most notorious vampire organization in New Orleans.
But when Talisen and his drug go missing, Willow will stop at nothing to find him, even if it means working with her vampire-ex, David. With souped-up humans, dangerous vampires, and more questions than answers, Willow has less than twenty-four hours to find him before everything changes forever.

This is the second book in the crescent city fae series and it was just as good if not better than the first I could not put it down so much action and drama the story is just awesome. I love Willow she is amazing for a Fairy she has amazing abilities but also she is such a strong female character with an exceptional moral compass to do what is right and protect her loved ones no matter what and she does it every time even what it gets her heart broken she still does what she needs to and I love that about her.
I know this series is not all about the romance but I must say i was disappointed in Talisen in this book he was not the person I thought he was and they way he ended things was just bad Id still like to say Im hoping he will come to his senses but Willow deserve better than both Talisen and David,
You wont regret reading this series it is magical

good story, shame about the 'heroine'...
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 January 2015Verified Purchase
Deanna Chase writes a brilliant story, good fast moving plots, interesting alternative realities etc, and I enjoy her writing a great deal. It's just a shame her main female protagonists are stupid, ignorant, self-obsessed, and so full of their own righteousness and supposed moral rectitude that they stumble haphazardly through each book, wrecking the lives of everyone around them: all because they are convinced of their own rightness and omniscience. In this book, it has become so bloody irritating that I'm leaving this review only 40% into the book (I've read the first one of these, and all the Jade Calhouns, so I know whereof I speak). one wish for future books: please can the lead female be even marginally intelligent?

A pleasure!

Willow and her friends are back and their mishaps provide some hours of joy and pleasure. Now, it seems everyone is after Tal's new drug that provides extra-strenght to humans and he even gets abducted.
Willow is starting a new romantic relationship with Talisen but David is too close to not think about him.
I confess I'm a fan of David and the betst part in this book, for me, was when David finally reveals the reasons for choosing his turn to vampire. I hope Willow will get back to him!

Can't make my mind up about David...

I enjoyed this book. Good action which is fast-paced and keeps your drawn in.
My hesitation is over the two male love interests in this book. As gorgeous as they both sound I don't love them as much as I wanted to! I am slowly warming to the idea of the switch in love interests but it didn't please me to begin with...!
