Burnett describes the trilogy as "an experimental song cycle" which consists of a single piece of poetry broken down into distinct songs. The albums explore the idea that society has been subject to over a century of electronic programming, a "programming epidemic," which is causing us to lose our ability to differentiate fact from fiction. The Invisible Light is a fusion of trance, electronic, folk, tribal and global music, providing the listener with the unique opportunity to stretch their mind and attention span. At the heart of this trilogy is technology and how it has advanced significantly throughout the course of the last century, with radio, film, television and the internet serving as central parts of our lives. The Invisible Light: Acoustic Space explains that "the center is everywhere and there is no border," that people have the ability to hear from every direction.

Gerade zum 30sten Mal gehört...eine ungewöhnliche Entdeckung ..
T-Bone Burnett, sonst eher als Produzent bekannt, hat hier eine CD veröffentlicht, die soundmäßig exakt in diese echt finstere Zeit passt und doch wie eine Reise in andere Dimensionen wirkt... die Musik , eng getaktet programmiert mit teils melodiösen Anleihen, fast schon transzendent ..die Texte haben teils biblische Ausmasse :-) , es geht immerhin um die Wahrheit (welche?)...nichts für depressive Stimmungen , bei mir hat es allerdings als stimmungsaufhellende Therapie gut funktioniert, fast wie in der Homöopathie.

T Bone's long-awaited latest has all the hallmarks of an Important Album. It's relevant and very NOW without being too specific. It rewards undivided attention. It's relentlessly fixated on The Truth. But I don't know if it's something I'll be reaching for on a regular basis. That's probably more a judgment on me than on the album.

There is no doubt Mr Burnett is a brilliant producer. We have lots of records by gifted musicians which he produced; they are uniformly great. But without a performing talent to produce, T Bone seems lost. This is not material you can put on the turntable and ever feel like you have enjoyed. You might be able to understand some of it, but there is no positive emotion coming through. Most of the energy is negative but it's so incoherent and unfocused that it leaves me just disappointed.

Wow. I love me some T-Bone Burnette but this is for hard core fans only. It's difficult to describe. Lots of spoken word pieces with electronic and percussive noises mostly. There are some musical numbers too but nothing you are going to hear a band play live on stage most likely. T-Bone, come back to me.
