Mindfully in Christ

As a practitioner and teacher of Mindfulness I have waited years for such a text as this one to come along. With skillful means Mr. Johnston's clear articulated scholarship reveals to the Christian the Biblical imperative that believers benifit greatly in the practice of mindfulness. His practical application of scripture empowers the practitioner to be solidly grounded while finding a great compassionate grace to change their life and the life of those they are called to love. Written for new Christian and well seasoned followers this text is foundational in being Mindfully in Christ
Mindfulness and Christianity are congruent. That's what this book shows.

I really enjoyed this book and it left me wanting more information about mindfulness. I had heard about it through secular psychology classes and groups that I was in, so I had to explore it and see if it was congruent to Christianity and our practices. I would definitely recommend this book. It is a way to wet the appetite.
A way of accessing Celtic Christianity?

I bought this book as a potential way of furthering my Christianity in a Celtic and not Roman sense. It had some very helpful ideas and suggestions. I think for those disillusioned with "traditional" church this is quite a helpful book. I got a lot more out of the first half than the second - I got a bit lost and felt it jumped around a bit in the last part. Overall I would recommend this book for those looking to be more fully and wholly Christian in their thought and action. It is also a good tool for all seeking to cope with our rapidly evolving and frantic world and seek personal peace and well being.

This tends to have better explanation than any one on one counseling. And probably should be read and studied more than once.

Good basic understanding of mindfulness from a Christian point of view. Easy and clear reading describing and supporting practice of peace and purpose.
